too not to and no - rebel is right - they do have something to do with it but, rebel, surely the blame lies with the muppets that twist what someone is saying into a reason for violence on another note, if you dont agree with me, i'll smack your puss
The blame for carrying out acts of violence lies with those who carry out those acts. The blame for inciting people to carry out those acts lies with the person who incites them.
sorry rebel but i dont see what mccoist or lennon does or says as inciting violence - and to me only those with violence in their hearts could interpret it as such and we are all hypocrites BA - i personally dislike americans while retaining fondness for their wonderful pornography
No. I don't believe Lennon was directing anyones ire other than his own. Hence the remark that it was personal. McCoist issued what amounts to a battle cry.
i disagree rebel we are talking football managers here not philosophical behemoths lennon says it is personal - winds up rangers fans - rangers fans give unjustifiable abuse mccoist says its disgraceful - calls for the panel to be identified - rangers fans give unjustifiable abuse both wrong and ill judged, both have consequences, neither are responsible for unjustifiable behaviour ps - we dont have to agree here
With respect Simon, that is close to "he brings it on himself". Lennon is not deliberately orchestrating a campaign for pressure to be brought to bear against himself.
No, but last time I checked; Neil Lennon was the man in control of his mouth and the words which come out of it (As is McCoist) extenuating circumstances are no excuse for someone in the public eye. I'm a big fan of Lennon as a manager, just wish he'd shut his trap at times.
With respect Simon, that is close to "he brings it on himself". Lennon is not deliberately orchestrating a campaign for pressure to be brought to bear against himself. agree - and i would never say "he brings it on himself" but by the same token im not going to say mccoist brings it on others
Simon do you think it is clever to pretend to be a Celtic fan so that you can try to make comparison between Neil Lennon's comments and Sally McCoist. Lennon for the eleven years he has been in this land has been put under severe pressure the whole time. He and his family's life has been under threat and if he happens to say anything that can vaguely interpreted as against the SFA, the SPL or a referee, he is up before them before you can say dignity. The referees and assistants are not above making a cock and bull story to get him in trouble. Where as Ally has had a comfortable armchair ride through his time at Celtic. As assistant Manager he charged into the Celtic dug out and was dragged out, he whispered, likely warnings or threats into Neil's ear and condemned the whole ruling process over diving Aluko. Now he uses the term "kill" and the need to know these people names in the one sentence. He already knew their names because a Rangers employee was at the hearing and Rangers had written confirmation of the findings including those who made them. He is also a liar when he blames Whyte for all the wrongs, for almost nine months gestation period , he praised Whyte at least on a weekly basis. There were enough Directors and senior employees at Rangers who are bound to know Whyte was doing wrong. Either these people were used to Rangers breaking the rules on a regular basis, and continued to go a long with this behaviour or else these people were bound to go to the SFA and tell them bad things were happening at the Rangers club. It has to be one or the other.
No? Look, I know what you are saying. People are responsible for their own actions. McCoist is not responsible for people threatening the panel but he is responsible for very publicly directing the traffic of vitriol. I ask you to read ore view whet he said again. He asked for a reaction from fans. He asked them to fight. He pointed the finger at the panel. Lennon has never remotely approached such reckless behaviour and as such warrants no further mention on this topic.
