I boxed for a couple of years before moving into kick boxing in my early 20s. Theres nothing gay about it! Great way of keeping in shape & excellent for self confidence. And if your jumped by a couple of sneaky cowards at least you wont **** yourself & you have a chance of coming out of it! And how many gay men do you see kicking the **** out of each other? No more than straight males I would suggest. We all see the footage of what’s going on out there and I agree its shocking for the average fan, but with the same spin people could be bricking it coming to London for the Olympics due to the riots that took place. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Poland was just one of the countries brutally oppressed by the Soviet Union. There is very good reason for the hatred of Russia, not that I would justify the actions of what happened out there, but I can certainly understand it more than say, Millwall bashing Palace fans because they live a few miles away.
Seeing a 'This is Russia' banner unfurled on Polish soil, and the arrogant nature of the Russian fans when they appear on the big screen, perfectly justifies the Poles wanting to give them a good kicking in my opinion. It's nothing compared to the rape and murder unleashed by the Red Army upon the Polish nation. Though I admit I'm slightly biased towards the Poles as they do a cracking job of cleaning my car at my local Sainsburys
TBH, don't want to rehash the old argument that was dragging on, but the final clarification I'll attempt to make is that no-one can see what happens before the stewards are assaulted, I'm discussing the right and wrong of the matter, not the letter of jobsworth regulations, and the Russian fan union's spokesman is the only person that's given a credible account of what happened, so I'm inclined to believe him. Moving on to yesterday, the Russian fans reminded me of the old Leeds reputation. Arrogant and proud with that flag like LiE mentions, taking the piss out of a high-profile air disaster, marching on together through the city and generally being a bunch of violent bastards all over the place. At the same time, what a bunch of total and utter ****s the majority of these hooligans have been. Cowardly attacks on stragglers and innocents, allowing themselves to be stirred up into nationalistic frenzy rather than picking a fair fight and making sure the wrong people get hurt, and I was pretty disgusted by the Soviet imagery the Russians were using yesterday even if it was a pisstake just to piss off the Polish fans. I think the hammer and sickle is more offensive than the swastika. How disorganized do the Polish police look as well? When they can't even afford proper bobby uniforms and they're relying on fluorescent jackets with 'Policja' written on them, you know they're on something of a Bates budget. They absolutely **** themselves when the Croats come at them too. I'm not bragging since I don't think it's something to brag about, but the British police would probably have reduced the violence that's taken place by ten-fold.
For WC 2010, I think FIFA did a really clever thing by bringing in a small contingent of police from each country with a team playing. Whenever their team played, the related police contingent was at their games to keep their fans in check. Seemed to be very effective!
