Liverpool's pursuit of a new left-back has taken them towards a possible signing of Arsenal's Gael Clichy, with the north London club reluctant to meet the player's salary demands.

Please let this happen 1st day of transfer window

Would be class if it happened and we managed to keep hold of Jose. I won't hold my breath though...

Ben Arfa's Left Foot-- me niether..............

I'd rather lose him then someone then like coloccini, or barton tbh, as its a more crucial position

I want to see young Ferguson get a go! Enrique has looked atrocious last few games. Worse than i have ever seen him.

Yeah defiantley... personally I think Enrique will leave if not this season then next..He has itchy feet, and in a way i dont blame him if he has the chance to play european football and play for a world cup winning team then fair play to him.

Its not as if he grew up with this club, thats football these days, happens to every other team!

As you said Ferguson is going to be a Big dog one day... I hope hes English for Englands team sake

He's Irish, well Northern Irish although that's debated atm. He's played one friendly at full international level for Northern Ireland, but Republic of Ireland are trying to poach him. Think it may go to court if he choosesw Eire as although there is a rule about Irish being able to play for either team, they're not allowed to have played a senior international for the other Ireland.

Best still perplexes me! How a striker can be crap in the Championship, yet decent in the Premier League still doesn't make sense...

He was the top scorer in the championship when we bought him wasn't he? He'd been doing well, just didn't fit in well with Amy at the club I guess...

Think he had a few, wasn't on as many as Nolan or Whittingham or anyone though. Failed at us last season though.

Unfortunatley, if Fergie was English he'd never get in the national team. This is because of one key factor. He plays for Newcastle. No matter how good you are, Fabio 'hasn't got a ****ing clue' Capello gets a nose bleed north of Merseyside, so any Newcastle players won't even get a look in.

This, Capello would of been part of the Carrol deal.
