Got to say that I thought he would be an excellent squad player to have and a big improvement on Palacios but no idea how integral he would become so quickly.

Whilst I can't say that I realised how good he was til he came to Spurs I definitely used to hate watching him play against us - pain in the backside. I always used to think that he had a knack for niggly little fouls that would break up our flow but rarely be enough to get a card. Of course he doesn't get up to that sort of thing now he's a Spurs player...

Comment above re us buying the bargains of the year three years in a row: spot on. If you look at the hit/miss rate of Spurs transfers over the last few years you'll see how much better the ratio has been with Harry.

Now why didn't we sign that Joe Cole?

I get the feeling its a combo of Harry+Levy which has made our transfers better. I can't help but think that if it weren't for Levy we would have cast our nets much further and brought in some dross along the way.

I definitely Levy has to have some of the credit, for me it was him who blocked us getting Joe Cole and David James.

But loads of credit to Harry too, Scotty was definitely his pick.

    He is one, Croydon.
As I said at the start of the season, Liverpool spent a lot of money in the last transfer window and didn't sign a single player that'd get into our first XI.

Suarez would've got in the team before Ade arrived. Not sure about now though, not sure he'd suit us.

In fairness he's a good player when he's not diving/ cheating/ being racist...
Although no where as good, he has a similar way about him as Cristiano Ronaldo was. Great talent and skill yet the diving and constant bitching etc overshadows the positives.

Suarez was signed in the previous transfer window.
In the last one, Liverpool signed Henderson, Adam, Doni, Downing, Enrique, Coates and Bellamy for a combined total of about £57m.
Enrique would push for a place. That's it though, in my opinion.

I wouldn't mind Bellamy on our bench, either.

I said several times I wish we had Scott Parker (when on the Beeb)!
He always reminded me of Bobby Moore in a lot of his play, apart from the yellow cards!
I also said, several times,I would have liked to see Kevin Davies in our forward line....but....
I got a lot of stick about both!!!!!
But players CAN improve with other clubs.Mind you,the reverse is also true i.e.D.Bentley.
