The amount they've quoted you is likely an estimate, never accurate. If your bills over the last year have been mostly estimate, that isn't good. Ye should always check the readings they quote against the actual readings and call them. They'll be able to tell you over the phone, using your meter readings today, exactly what the bill/credit is. If there's a big bill, they'll let you pay it up to them over a period of time.
Even if it's a small bill I'll tell them I'm paying it over installments They sent my brother a cheque for ÃÆÃâÃâ ââ¬â¢ÃÆââ¬Â âââ‰â¢ÃÆÃâÃââÃÆââââ¬à ¡ÃâìÃÆââ¬Â¦ÃâáÃÆÃâÃâ ââ¬â¢ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¡ÃÆÃââââ¬à ¡ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã700 last week and he's only been paying ÃÆÃâÃâ ââ¬â¢ÃÆââ¬Â âââ‰â¢ÃÆÃâÃââÃÆââââ¬à ¡ÃâìÃÆââ¬Â¦ÃâáÃÆÃâÃâ ââ¬â¢ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¡ÃÆÃââââ¬à ¡ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã30 a month for 2 years. I reckon I could be in for a big refund
Do people still fiddle their meters? When I moved into my flat, the meter was bypassed. Literally the power cables from outside were connected straight to the house supply, bypassing the fuse box and the meter.
Is that not slightly dangerous? When I say slightly, I really mean extremely I would mess with my meter and probably add units on
It is extremely dangerous. As soon as I saw it, I called them out. They changed it immediately and checked all the electrics in the house over to make sure nothing was damaged. They also llooked at me as if I did it lol I used to work for them years ago. The stories you used to hear. They actually keep a lot of the 'fiddled meters' and put them on display in one of their offices.
