The SNP has a self imposed ban on voting on England/Wales only issues. Therefore they cannot use their position of holding the balance of power, as the majority they would have formed will disappear in some votes and make government impossible.
"The SNP has a self imposed ban on voting on England/Wales only issues. Therefore they cannot use their position of holding the balance of power, as the majority they would have formed will disappear in some votes and make government impossible." A very noble outlook. But one that if now discarded will make the SNP look just like the other "Westminster" parties.
"Well, it ain't Milliband, that' for sure!" The career/academic socialist son of a career/academic socialist. And the political runt of the that litter to boot.
Great, the UK is £850m richer according to our second class History degree holding Chancellor... oh wait a sec... The EU sticks us with a bill. Ministers double it, apply the rebate, return to the original figure and claim victory. Great job guys!
It's par for the course, they lie about everything and it's called spin which is spin in itself. Let's call them what they are; liars. You can vote for them the Blue Tories or you can vote for the other bunch of liars the Red Tories led by Minibrain or you can go the whole hog and vote for UKIP they don't bother to much with lies, that a bit advanced for them, they just spout their xenophobic bollocks and they pick up votes from our wonderfully enlightened electorate. In Scotland we do have an alternative and most of us will be voting for that. The SNP will be a much stronger force come next spring and, I am happy to say, considering their complete duplicity, the Red Tories will be almost wiped out in Scotland according to the latest Ugov poll.
It's the assumption by all politicians that the public is so thick that they can't see through the bollocks they spout that annoys me. As Billy Connolly said, " don't vote for them, it only encourages them"
By not voting, aren't you simply giving them what they want and relinquishing the tiny slither of power you have left? I used to think that way but by abstaining, you're admitting defeat.
It's a massive let down though if none of the candidates are to the standard you think that they should be for the party for which you wish to vote.
Maybe one day they'll hold an election and nobody will show up. Perhaps they'll get the message then?... The last time I could be arsed to vote for any of them, it was for the Monster Raving Loony Party...
No, they'll just lie about the numbers like they always do and declare the winner who they want to be. The smaller the voter numbers, the easier it is to manipulate. Don't ever give up your right to vote.
They don't care whether you vote or not. As various people have pointed out, if it changed anything then they wouldn't let us do it. They'll carry on with their current way of doing things until people really kick off again, then they'll pretend to pay attention for a while and then go back to how things are now.
If they're truly manipulating the current voting percentage statistics, then the true situation must be dire indeed!...
As Billy Connolly once said, and i'm paraphrasing "Don't vote for these ****s, it only encourages them".
As some unfunny comedian with their head up their ass who thinks regurgitating Naomi Klein makes him a political genius says "The only way to change things is not to vote...by the way, I want to be Mayor of London, so vote for me!"
Well the postal voting system is wide open to manipulation but at least we don't have an electronic system like the US. Just 1's or 0's in a database table. Oops, sorry Florida did I just move those from one table to another by accident? Oh well, here's your new Pres Mr. George Dubbya Boosh!
