To be honest I think we're about as good as Sinclair's ever going to get. He's not really good enough to play for a club challenging for the top four. Could probably earn a bigger wedge at a Villa or Everton, but top ten or so is his level.
I must have been watching a different player all year long last season. Fair enough Sinclair didn't set the world on fire going forward. But his work rate in tracking back and helping out Taylor was phenomenal in my opinion. Was lucky enough to go to 4 home games last year, and his work rate in getting back defensively was what struck me most about his performances. Going forward he still had it, but I think his final decision making let him down sometimes. DG was often in great space to receive a killer ball, but too often Sinclair would blast a shot wide/over. Still a great player in my eyes and would NOT want him to go. Do not forget, he was probably the difference in us getting promoted from the Championship. Should always be seen as a club legend really.
Exactly the same for Dobbie but he's off in all likelihood. Spot on with your comments. Sinclair's tracking back is often overlooked.
An attacking midfielder has to create at least as much as he scores and I don't think that Danny has a good enough eye for the killer pass; nor do I think his touch is good enough to play that role. I'm happy with him as one of our strikers and, if he'd had Siggy supplying him for the whole season, he'd probably have scored more. It would also help if Dyer and Sinclair learned how to consistently put in some decent crosses. Their ability in that department was well below average last season.
FA Cup 3rd round, 7th Jan 2012. "It took just one minute of the second half for Swansea to break Barnsley's resistance a second time, as Graham received the ball midway in the Yorkshire side's half before turning and unleashing a brilliant 30-yard shot that gave Steele no chance." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rhgu72cOqYI (Wait for the ad to finish)
NamJack, in fairness I came across as overly critical of SS. If I didn't rate him, I wouldn't be criticising him. Ok, his workrate in defence is class, but it needs to be class going forward too. Any time over the years I've seen a legendary goalscorer being interviewed the same thing crops up - how it "hurts to score goals". I just don't think he works hard enough off the ball when we have possession, that's all.
In the comments after the article > http://www.thisissouthwales.co.uk/Swansea-City-hopeful-Sinclair-deal/story-16446022-detail/story.html Anyone know who this MickyDirtbag is. Some might say he`s a bit of a lad, others might say something completely different. He calls himself "a super fan", ring any bells ! Then again, he could be just thick, or a redbird, or possibly both.
