I suppose what we are seeing are the reasons why Chelsea let him go out on loan so often and finally why they sold him on the cheap to us. He is a talented lad but he is also limited and the Premier League exposed those limitations. He is a top Championship player but doesn't quite have the "X" factor that is needed at the higher level. Even so, he did turn in a few creditable performances for us and the talent is there. It just needs coaxing out. If he stays, and I would like him to, perhaps Laudrup can help put that extra gloss on him so he can start shining in the Premier League the same way he did for us in the Championship. He would be very foolish to walk away now and not give ML the chance to work with him. If the Dane succeeds, everyone is a winner.
Well we have two options ... sell him before his contract runs down or use him his last season ( I think this is his last season on his contract ) . If we can't get a good offer , keep him & if we get a good offer , sell him . We'll miss his pace if he's off though IMO ... The only Swan to play a part of every game in the Premier League !!
If I was Sinclair or Dyer, I would be grinning from ear to ear at the idea of working with Laudrup. Sinclair, in particular, seems to need to be less predictable and if anyone can help with that surely it's Laudrup!
sinclair was a huge disappointment last season and that was due to him being too greedy on the ball and going for glory by himself instead of passing to a more better placed player.....he could do it in the championship and thought he could do it in the premiership and he could'nt......he is a very talented player as we all know but i have been told he wants to move to a london club.....I dont think there have been any interest in him yet but if i was him i would sign a one year contract and see how he does under laudrup. anyway its up to him as no player is wanted if they dont want to be here.....he let himself down at the end of the day as he is better than he showed last season....cut the greed down and be more of a team player and he will flourish.....
Whilst being greedy, Dai, he needs to remember to try hitting the target more often and stop going for "glory" goals. I lost count of the number of times he blazed the ball over the bar when well placed. More thoughtful shots would have worked the keeper, who might have spilled some of them, and we could have poached the scraps.....
Sinclair "wants to move to a London club". Joe Allen is about to hand in a transfer request so he can join Liverpool.(This from a different posting). Do you have ANY good news Dai?
It's just speculation like all the linked players to the swans are at the moment. Large pinch of salt needed, there is no point worrying about such things as 90% of the stuff you see in the press are crap
yes laudrup arrives at the liberty tomorrow and will be paraded on thursday so after he has had a one to one with all the players we might find things will change...who knows.....what we must all do is cut down on our expectations on how well we will do this season as this is all brand spanking new to laudrup and if he can manage to finish outside the bottom three then he would have done well in his first season.
Bloody hell, anyone got any petrol ? If Laudrup is half the manager he was as a player we'll be more than allright.
lets hope so .....mind you it will be very difficult for him and anything above the bottom three would be a bonus....i cant understand how fans can say he will finish in the top 10.(me included) but when you look at the reality then that wont probably happen. super stars dont make good managers all the time. The special one for instance never played above the third division and he is regarded as one of the best managers in the modern game, Bobby charlton and bobby more were useless as managers. The point is until laudrup gets to grips with british football then we cant expect miracles, I hope the fans be patient and not expect because he was a great footballer a decade ago that he will only have to turn up to do well. dont forget he has been sacked before and walked out of a club because he disagreed with the chairman sacking his no2. so lets wait and see what he can do first and hope he gets some luck that brendan had in his first season in the premiership and manage to keep us up while in a learning curve of premiership football...
Konoplyvanka ... played his whole career with Dnipro Dnipopettroush (or something like that )Lol !! Only 22 , Kiev had their 14 million euro bid laughed at so .. so much for that . Was fun watching him play though !
