With the important caveat that you don't sell "liabilities" for £2m, I'd take that sort of money provided we buy a replacement in the same window. Even if Bond is ready for a run of Championship games, he is not ready to be the uncontested number one.

Moosey if its all the same to you Rene may or may not make it , but he conceded 3 today in league 1! I dont think he is the short term answer if you drop Loach!
I have never seen Bondy play , and again have only reports on the net to go on , but he seem a reasonable prospect , butnot now not yet! I would need to know more , until then I would stick to what I know , and that would be to tell Scott too shout sooner and louder and to tell Mapps hit it forwards!!

Against top of the league, and you're only as good as your defence.

Gilmartin has had his fair share of howlers when he's played for us too.......but maybe it's a decent shout to give him or Bond a chance. Don't want to dent Loach's confidence......but there's a bigger picture.

A keeper is only as good as his defence Exactly , and the defence has been improving as has our goals against column ,slowly but surely , If you put a changed component into the mix (possibly the most important) ,then new partnerships have to be forged ,New thought processes inside that defensive unit! . I`m not sure it would be the right thing to change until we have too , Ie Nozzer back to sunderland , Loachy sold etc!

I have always liked experienced keepers, been there, seen it, done it and got the t-shirt. Every keeper is prone shall we say to the odd lapse but Loach's howlers continue to cost us, if we were 3 up I wouldn't give a monkey's but it is always when there is one goal in it:( I agree about the lack of firepower we sorely miss DG, MS I am afraid is not good enough to be the mainstay of our goals for! The others need to wade in, TD has to take his chances whilst in the team. I have no idea what the answer is other than hope to get someone in during the window!

There's some good points here guys but one thing I can't abide with are "Happy Clappers" who think Scott is a good keeper who is a little bit unfortunate. Yes, he was once considered to be good enough for the England U21's but not now! That opportunity is long gone for him! His form is so bad that the only reason why he is not a third rate keeper in a championship side is that his fellow goalies are either too bad or too inexperienced to replace him. If Hornette and the others could wake up and smell the coffee and perhaps take their heads out of the sand they would realise this.
As I said earlier I have nothing against him ( and the grand ads and grandmothers love him) but come on, he is EFFING USELESS!
NB Mapps, nozzy, Dicks and Lee must be seriously hacked off!

Sorry to say this but ,even at best Scott has only ever been half the article ie. a good shot stopper - He became an England keeper because most other English keepers are also just that, shot stoppers. The last English keeper who had any authority in his area was David Seaman (Ironically born in Rickmansworth) - since then nothing. In other countries goalkeepers are trained to be responsible for everything which happens in their penalty area, not just to wait on the line for shots to come in. Scott reminds me a little of Steve Sherwood, only in his day we where a free scoring team so it didn't matter so much. I don't know what to suggest. I like him and his attitude, but maybe he just doesn't have the overall awareness to become a king of the box and to dominate everything which happens there. Having said that our goals against record speaks for itself and he is a part of our defence so something must be on the whole working. My impression is that if we had a Danny Graham scoring for fun at the other end it wouldn't matter.
