In 1840 Ireland had a population of 8m and England had a population of 16m. In 2001 Ireland had a population of 6.3m and England had a population of 54m.

Now considering the Irish loved to have about 10 kids and there's no sign of them in Ireland - I think it's fair to say about half of England has some Irish genes in there somewhere.
