"One More Pint" Burley first, now Don't-know-Wotte-you're-doing... as soon as he's gone they'll get Steve Wigley in.
Not sorry that Wotte was replaced by Pardew, but was sorry for him as a person. Just as he thought things were looking up with ML buying the club, he got the bum's rush.
ha ha ha. He won't last long there when they realise his nickname at Saints was "chocolate" (because he thought himself so wonderful that he could eat himself). Never bought into him staying loyal at Saints because he had no other job to go to and this was his one and only shot at managing in England. Anyway, just a reminder to us all what a mess we were once in not so long ago. Dark days, with embarrassingly bad decisions and staff... thankfully now behind us.
Felt kind of sorry for him when he was given the boot, but only on a personal level. Never really rated him, or his tactics. Loved his persistence with Zoltan Liptak up front in the last ten though (or was that Poortvliet? That whole pile of ****e era merges into one). Also, and while I can kind of understand people saying what a commendable job and decency he showed when everything was sinking, come on, he was manager of Southampton. He wasn't gonna walk away. Considering before Saints he'd been managing Ismaily SC and 'Al-Ahly Doha Sports Club' I think he did alright for himself. Seemed a nice enough bloke though.
I can hardly remember anything about that era...my memory has been eradicated (thank goodness) by recent more happy times.
