Thing is what government anywhere actually deals with everyone's wants and needs??

No government will ever keep everyone happy.

Why is there this romantic vision of this Caledonian utopia? Where your government lead by the valiant salmond leads you all down a path where the rich don't get taxed much, the poor don't pay any tax, everyone gets free houses, loads of benefits, pays nothing toward the running of local councils for bin collections and street lighting, never have to contribute toward anything to do with their health.

    All governments are ****s.

Anyone want to borrow my soap box??

This has been one of the most peaceful and friendly independence campaigns the world has ever seen. The odd assault (a Yes supported seriously assaulted although little coverage compared with Jim Murphy being hit by an egg) and a few verbals but that's been about it.

I'm pessimistic but I do have some hope that after a decade or so things are back on track and both sets of electorate are much happier.

This could easily all have been avoided if the parties had agreed to some sort of devolution question that would've been widely accepted in Scotland, me included.

You seem stuck on Alex Salmond, Sweat.

It's **** all to do with him or the SNP. I'll probably be voting Labour (so long as they have a clear-out) come 2016 and chances are the SNP will cease to exist.

Ff you're seriously going to argue that a Scottish government wouldn't reflect the views of its people better than Westminister currently does then you're ****ing mental mate and I shan't be debating with you today.

    Good day, sir.

No one is buying any idea of a Scottish utopia. In fact, one of the strengths of the Yes campaign is that it is grounded in realistic and common sense policies. That's why more and more people are buying into the idea. If Yes had made outlandish promises the Scottish people would have seen through it straight away.

Unfortunately, you've fallen into the same trap as Better Together - you think it's about Alex Salmond and the SNP. It's not. The Yes side has been driven by people on the street. It's one of the largest, if not the largest, political movement the UK has even seen. And it's a disparate group made up of SNP, socialists, Greens, union members, and thousands with no particular party affiliation.

This isn't a vote for Alex Salmond. Better Together spent weeks trying to convince us that's what it was and the Scottish people didn't buy it.

If there's a YES vote expect it to go tonto over here, which usually spills over to old Blighty.

Imagine Westminister was in Edinburgh, would people in the Home Counties find that acceptable? I don't think so.

I'm hoping for a Yes so I can round up the English and send them home to think again.

Then, Paddy, Giuseppe, Mohammed and Piotr.

Then we can get back to Jock central.

    HOOTSMIN!!

They must be showing different stuff on the tv up there and printing different stuff in the papers.

There was some tree hugging hippy woman talking on behalf of the yea campaign talking about creating a special type of inclusive, free and just government.. Without actually saying what that is. What does it mean?

They had some other well spoken Scottish bloke just saying that businesses won't leave and panic.. Then when asked why he believes that he couldn't answer it. That's just what he believed. He believed it would be fine.. Based on nothing other than hyperbole.

I just find the whole situation very strange. For people to say I don't know anything about it. Unfortunately I'm a drone that watched the bbc news every morning over breakfast then at night over dinner and it's been every day Scottish independence. It's in the papers every day down here.

I watched the live debate where salmond made a twat of himself. I didn't see the second one where apparently he was better prepared.

99% of the press, including the BBC, are pro-union. You're hardly going to get a balanced view reading/watching the mainstream media, hence my referral above to Yes being a grassroots movement. Anyway, looks like we're ****ed:
