Rowling, who has lived in Scotland for more than 20 years, said one reason for her donation was her fear that independence would put at risk research into MS – a disease which led to the death of her mum.

In her 1600-word essay, she also said the nationalists had failed to convince her over issues such as the currency, EU and oil revenues.

Yeah some opinion she has. Why would an independent Scotland cut funding to MS research? It is more likely to be cut under a Tory led government than a more left centred government in an independent Scotland.

The fact all these rich tossers are desperate to stay together shows that Scotland would do well on its own. They are all scared of losing out on their gravy train. Do you really think England is keeping the union but not getting anything back from it?
