Not sure it will make that much difference to the result ST - does anyone seriously believe that the currency wouldn't remain as it is post independence? It would be financial suicide all round.

 

Doesn't that mean the Bank of England will run Scotland...as usual?

 

This is a country where people will be voting Yes or No depending on which football team they support. Don't underestimate the stupidity of some folk.

 

It's a fair point - I imagine there'd be some way of operating it on a dual basis but I suppose we'll have to wait and see. This is a concern though - I don't think anybody really knows how things will work post independence.

On a "yes" vote it's certain that a Sovereign Scotland will enter a financial congruence with the remaining UK. Anything otherwise would be, as you say suicide, especially when the pound's influence still has some currency (no pun) in Europe.

It's a no brainer, and one of the few no brainers we have in this mess that we're expected to make decisions on.
