I'd be inclined to leave Kranjcar on the left again for the next game as he got alot of space out there yesterday. Same team to start against Barnsley for me, with Hoilett and Phillips to come off the bench if things aren't working out.
Happy Days...... Listened to an interview with Rufus Brevett on 94.9 last evening and he said we were superb and played Boro off the park.....we didn't look like conceeding and Rob Green is so confident and controls his area that the back 4 are even more confident.....he thinks that it is not out of the question for him to get re-called to the England set up......
Great report col - I think we saw the game the same, but a few differing scores. However, it was tough to give individual scores. Interesting to read your comments on the midfield - It looked to me that Faurlin and Carroll were in a similar position, but I do agree it is too deep for Carroll to play. Austin is such a hard worker and he runs for two strikers such is his effort. Hope to see him scoring from open play soon!
You deserve that for all the dirge you sat through last couple of seasons (as do many others of course).
The only thing i would perhaps disagree with here Col is Ale's rating. I was sitting in Ellerslie and there were a few times where he looked a bit off the pace and there were a few misplaced passes too. However he did improve as the half went on and second half was much better. By then though i felt Borough were so ineffectual they were making everyone in the team look like a genius! I also concede that that was his first game for a while so it was really encouraging to see him grow in stature as the game went on. I hope he gets a little run in the team now as this nice one / two touch passing game really suits him and hopefully he will get better and his confidence will grow. i'm not totally convinced (and i hope i'm wrong) that he's fully back to the Faurlin of old.
