I never joke about the lizard royal family.

Prince Andrew doesn't sweat. Neither do lizards.

Nasa has picked up a "heartbeat" signal from its Voyager 2 probe after it lost contact with it billions of miles away from Earth, the space agency said.

Last month, the spacecraft - exploring the universe since 1977 - tilted its antenna to point two degrees away from Earth after a wrong command was sent. As a result, the probe stopped receiving commands or sending data.

But on Tuesday, Nasa said a signal from Voyager 2 was picked up during a regular scan of the sky.

Yes mate it's from the JWST, they think it might be two galaxies interacting, causing what looks at distance to be a question mark. It was found while gathering information about two tightly bound stars, so while studying the below picture, they found that one...

Ok it will not let me paste the star picture, but it's in the following link...

    https://www.space.com/james-webb-space-telescope-question-mark-galaxy-photo

Edit: I found the link I originally got the picture from...

Was reading an article about Chinese cellular modules. They are basically small components embedded into almost every electrical item that’s built. They collect and transmit data, manage software, regulate electrical usage, have geolocation capabilities and send software updates etc.

They are in everything from transport, payments, healthcare, banking, logistics, energy, security, etc and in January the UK intelligence agencies had to strip down a governnment car because it was being used to record and transmit conversations within it.

The potential for these cellular modules to be used to cripple our infrastructure is right there, they could switch off the electricity to render vital systems useless or mess with the software to make our systems crash, and it could all be done remotely without anybody in the UK intelligence being able to do anything about it.

Apparently the Chinese stated that they have seen 10 years of weak government in both the UK and US which has allowed them to gain a technological foothold in almost every system that we rely on.

So when @brb can’t switch his tele on to watch come dancing and he’s getting bills for subscriptions he hasn’t got, he’ll know that @BobbyD is punishing him for voting Tory <laugh>

I don't really buy into all this anti China rhetoric, no more than the West obsession with Russia, I have just as much of any distrust in the EU. Anyway BobbyD convinced me to buy an Huawei phone about 3 years ago, why would I care if they spy on me, I'm already digitally tracked in this country.

I think western govts distrust China, but that's only because they are better at subterfuge than them <laugh>

Rich men vying for power and control whilst the rest of us plebs worldwide just get on with our lives, whether we're English, Chinese or Russian.

And like you say, our data is already being tracked and sold to Corporate entities

All countries are corrupt, and all countries are trying to get a leg up on each other and willing to stab each other in the back to get an advantage.

That's true for China, Russia, UK or US. Not saying one country is better than another (although I am partial to democracy), but right now China is the biggest country and most capable country that could hurt the west and that is why they are the current bogeymen.

30 years from now it might be India or Nigeria who is the rising power and they will be the new bogeymen and everyone be wondering what those people are doing and worrying about the threat they pose.

There is legitimate reasons to worry about China though... Not that China has any reason or desire to attack us directly, but its openly declared foreign policy is to claim land and territories that ever had any connection to China, no matter how brief in its history. They have lots of territorial spats with lots.of different countries... Any one of which could inadvertently bring us into war with them... Either directly or by proxy like is happening in Ukraine. Because of that, and only because of that, it matters what China could do to hurt us.

Should we get involved if China takes over an island from Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan, etc... Probably not... But there is a danger we will.

    They want Taiwan back.

The US has a treaty to supply Tiawan with arms if they are ever attacked. But would they get involved ..... ?

Probably depends on who is president at the time. As much as I hate Trump he would probably not get involved because there is nothing in it for him personally, but an Idealist like Biden would probably say **** it and attack China.

Would pity whoever was in charge. There's no correct answer as how to respond there. You either back out of a treaty and let a democracy fall... Or you start WWII.
