I'd love us to sign Moore, but if I was him, I wouldn't consider coming to us. He's a highly rated young keeper, he needs to be playing week in, week out, settling for a place on a bench would be a really bad move for him.
It would be great for the club to have 2 GK going neck and neck to be No.1 Schwarzer has said that with this being WC year he needs to be playing in the PL. I dont see many option for him away from us at the moment. Certainly with his vast experience McGregor could only learn from him as well.
We could sign Moore and leave him on a seasons loan with Brentford. One for the Future without a doubt.
We've got a limited budget, we're not going to spend seven figure sums on players, just to let them carry on playing where they already are. And it would take a seven figure bid to get him.
Shut up. You have no idea at how deals are done have you. Moore is one for the future and we have players to sweeten the pot.
Some reports (unsubstantiated) are still saying that Mark has had no offers from EPL Clubs but that Hull City may be interested. Mark needs a club if he wants to keep his form and fitness going into the World Cup and with his experience he could well fit the bill in preference to McGregor. Other reports are saying that he would easily get a position in the Australia A-League but about 12-15,000 quid per week tops. We could easily top that without breaking the bank.
McGregor's now been confirmed and I'm not sure we could keep McGregor and Schwarzer happy, neither will settle for the bench. I'd still love him to come though.
I can't see why anyone would want schwarzer as our number 2. Liam Rosenuor is our number 2. Schwarzer would be an awful right back.
We'd want a back goalie who's actually going to be there, otherwise what's the point? Oxley has gone to Oldham and despite him having a 24 hour recall, you have to cover every angle. If Moore were to come in I'd expect him to challenge for the number 1 jersey. If we were to sweeten the deal we'd offer them Stewart, Cairney or McLean as part of the deal or a first year professional on loan.
