That is my exact reaction to Butland - "discovered" him on FM2012 where he becomes excellent but am not sure if he can do that in real life. 100% not worth the £7M Brum are valuing him at. I would rate Robinson's kicking on par with Schmeichel's - both can drop the ball on a sixpence deep in the opposition half and could easily make shots on target from goal kicks.
Best keeper in the league bar none
Yes ... but they should have had 10 ... That's it then ... Kasper's the best ... and I have the biggest willy.
Your reserves and your first team seem rather similar, seven of the players who played against Burton played in your last league game.
Eh? I just said it was stretching it to call it a reserve team, there were a few fringe payers involved, but it wasn't a reserve team, it was just a poor performance, these things happen. Nine times out of ten you'd have beaten them easily, as would we.
Twisting the facts as usual I see. Only four players started both those matches. Of those, Knockhaert was making his debut (and scored) and St Ledger was playing what I believe was his first match after coming back from injury. Another was the keeper, who in no way was responsible for any of the goals. The fact that we started with Schlupp and Waggy up front tells you all you need to know.
Team that played that day Schmeichel De Laet St. Ledger Whitbread Konchesky Gallagher Danns James Knockaert Waghorn Schlupp It was St. Ledger's first game back from injury. Whitbread, Danns, Waghorn and Schlupp's only starts this season. No Marshall, Drinkwater, King, Vardy, Morgan, Nugent, Dyer and there all start most games So yeah reserve team
Ex Leeds , current Leeds ,Ex Leeds & Hull ( Yorkie affinity ).... Not exactly full of surprises eh ? I suppose your rational on Kasper won't change this season either as when we play you guy's he won't have much to do ! I've actually got a soft spot for Leeds , have had some fantastic sides over the years & if we are all honest should of been crowned champions of Europe. However that lust for Euro glory cost em big time which is why you have a leech of a chairman at the helm now !
Honestly, Robinson's kicking is second to none, still remember it well. He has kicked it over the opposition's bar before I'm sure of it Schmeichel's is pretty decent though as well Agreed
I accept that it wasn't your first team, I just think it's a little misleading to call it a reserve team. You lost that game because you had a **** night, not because you played a load of kids. These things happen, we lost to Donny and Macclesfield, despite them being ****e, such is life.
Reserve teams are made up of those that aren't first teamers. If someone called it a youth team, fair enough. But they didn't. We lost the game because we played ****, because we fielded a team that hardly played together and included players that are probably low on morale because they're deemed not to be good enough for our first team. The League Cup against Burton was hardly going to inspire them either. These things do happen, our first team lost to Wycombe in 2001. But that was nothing like this match. A side of lower ability players that are an established unit always have a great chance against 11 talented strangers. I don't know if you rested players or not, can't be bothered to look to be honest. But I suggest you did, and a lot of the teams that were upset did. Saving yourself for the league has to be the priority in this day and age and it's paid off for us so far.
Well Danns, Whitbread, Gallagher, Schlupp and Waghorn have only started 1 game this season. Which was against Burton Matty James and Anthony Knockaert have been rotated between the starting line up and the bench all season So yeah. I would say we put a reserve team out Just because our reserves still look decent on paper doesnt change the fact there reserves
