It seems last week hasnt done us any favours http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...ester-united-target-kasper-schmeichel-3250561
I'm not sure he'll go anywhere where he won't be guaranteed number 1 ... but he's done his time and earned his opportunities ... so fair play to the lad ... either way.
Guaranteed number 1 spot for us in the Premier league and a chance to really prove himself. Lets hope he signs a new contract but if not we could always go after paddy Kenny or Andy Lonergan as we all know they are both better keepers than Kasper!!
If Man U don't get into the Champions league (and its likely they wont) its the perfect time for Schmeichel to go there, i have no doubt that there could be about 8 new players starting for Man U next season.
Can't see what difference that makes - the big question for Kasper would be whether he is prepared to be a back-up for De Gea ... which is what he would be unless De Gea himself is lining up a move ... if we got promoted I'd be a lttle disappointed in him leaving to become a number 2 - he still needs to prove himself at Prem level - would make more sense for him to sign a two year at a club where he would be first choice, be it us or elsewhere, then show his worth and move as a number one ... but only time will tell. Blackpool's goal on Saturday shows he still has some rough edges ...
He's one of the few players there not getting any flak in the nedia ... and the fact that Lindergaard is looking for a move suggests that De Gea is well and truly established as the first choice now ... it will indeed be an interesting close season for United and I think they will make a number of very big signings ... I don't personally subscribe to the myth that they won't be able to attract 'big names' if they are not in the Champions league next season... they are Manchester United after all ... e.g would you sign for Galatsaray instead if given a choice ... United's main competion for signings will be the usual suspects - Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern and also the nouveau riche clubs Chelsea, Man City, PSG, Monaco etc ...
Marshall was exceptionally good for Cardiff last season ... and will be better for a season's experience in the Prem ... but don't rule out a Cardiff great escape ... they were a little unlucky on Saturday and I expect them to be a handful for anyone visiting their place ... it's a real lottery at the bottom now IMHO...
Not when we go there though I agree that it is a lottery down there. I think Fulham are doomed, but they are the only certainty imo.
Everyweek someone looks dead and buried and then pulls out a result Massive week for Fulham because they need to string some results together pretty fast. A great win over Newcastle and they need to follow that up with another. While I think Hull will stay up with Long and Jelavic but they still have alot of work to do
