As a fan of another 'little club' whose manager was apparently too good for us, think you've come out tops on this appointment.

I'm pretty happy with Chris Hughton, he'll steady the ship I'm sure. We were also linked with Laudrup, I just laughed that off, but here he is with you guys. OK, an unknown quantity, but exciting for sure. I know great players don't always make great managers, but if the players aren't lifted by this, there's no hope for them.

It's so leftfield, I'm excited for you myself! Good luck next season, fixtures out Monday, look forward to visiting again soon.

 

Hi ncgandy. Thanks for the kind words! Hughton is a good appointment too! Again, a bit of an unknown quantity in the Premiership given his dismissal at Newcastle (which I thought was harsh, but ultimately the club has gone from strength to strength since so I don't think you can argue with the logic of bringing Pardew in) but I think he'll do well for you. I don't think the way he had Newcastle playing is a million miles from how you guys play best either, so I think overall you've done pretty well yourselves!

I think I speak for everyone when I say I am over the moon and incredibly excited about next season. A great prior season in the PL, coupled with Laudrup's appointment, means we can attract players from abroad that wouldn't have given us a second thought before, so it should be an interesting transfer window too!

 

this has put the post Rodgers blues thoroughly behind me! - only time will tell of course but im chuffed to bits about this (didnt even care that England won!). Think of his contacts and the players that will now be taking a good look at us, not to mention the existing squad who may have been tempted away (Sinclair, Allen etc).
