Ha! Well, I think there are some great thoughts here; and some very funny ones even though some of them are totally unfair on Westy - who in my opinion has come up with a potentially great idea for an ongoing series of threads. I would like to see DRS not restricted to 'overtaking zones' at all but to be allowed anywhere on the circuit when within 1 second of a car ahead. However, at some circuits, it is very possible that this would cheapen the 'show' too much, with the result that overtakes will be perceived as relatively trivial (as compared with the previous scarcity). If this were the case, a smaller DRS slot could certainly redress the balance and leave us with what I would consider a more ideal scenario: that overtaking will be frequent but not too cheap, and that it might be encouraged in several different places around any given circuit and not dictated by an external body which should have no bearing on the way a car is driven. In my opinion, this should be entirely up to the driver (accepting the one second rule as above), even if it results in some limited form such as a prescribed total time or a prescribed number of applications - although as a purist, I'd prefer to see it entirely at the driver's discretion for the whole race, which would be quite possible with Westy's idea of a smaller slot. Of course, the difficulty is that we are still very much in the early days of DRS and I accept the claim that technology (to monitor and activate DRS) may be lagging behind but it is vital that F1 aims for future ideals such as have been proposed by several people in this thread. Make no mistake: F1 does listen and does take note (ever more frequently) of what is being said in places such as this. This is a good thread. And, joking aside, it has a value that extends beyond the subtle choice of title! In my opinion it is well worth a 'rep' and, now that I understand how to do it, I'll give him one!
Well in my usual naughty style - I'd like to see Flavio 'tweak' one of the well endowed 'pole' girls bra-strap, which would snap revealing her ample figure, quickly followed by her giving him the most enormous slap round the kisser. Then for him never again to appear on the grid.
Or - Horner (standing beside his RB) saying on the grid-walk 'what a fuss about our so-called flexible wing' he bends down and pushes it, and it promptly breaks into 3 pieces.
This next round is called scenes we'd like to see, this round is for everyone so if you could make your way to westys thread. You call out scenarios we'd like to see and the members come out with their suggestions. Ok so the first subject is "bad lines to hear over the radio". lol that could really work as a thread haha A rule I would like to see, several Limited and regulated in season testing - especially for rookies. Refuelling. Increases in trye size and grip. front and rear wings back to thier 2008 shapes/sizes.
Ross Brawn to Schumacher: "If you can't beat him, just do what you've always done" 1~\ Yes, I agree but I would say only for rookies! 2~\ No, I completely disagree with refuelling. It reduces the net contribution - however slight - from the driver, since it places more responsibility upon his/her supporting act. 3~\ I do not see a big need and Pirelli are only just getting to 'grips' (ahem) with what they've just come into. Yes, mechanical grip is important when cars are so reliant upon aerodynamics but DRS has gone some way to offsetting this already (although it should be less regulated sooner rather than later!) 4~\ Just wait for 2012!
Do what youve always done - nice 1 cosi I liked the one by heidfelds engineer when he was on fire "get out quickly" There is always this classic failure haha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_7_aJnQ1Uk
