    Disagree with that.
Anyway, enough about Ramsey (although in a thread called scapegoating our players, I suppose it was obvious he would be the topic of discussion)
How about Song? He was singled out for a fair bit of criticism this season. Personally I think he's been one of our most consistent performers. His assist rate this season has been phenomenal.

  2. Song has been one of the best midfielders in the league in my view. Only RVP has more assists than Song in our team, and Song leads the league in defence splitting passes <ok>

I can't really understand why we want to say some of our players suck.

  5. Truthful assessment of how they played perhaps?

Not for me. We win as a team and lose as a team. If you want to single out players, then how about Vermaelen against QPR, it was probably his two mistakes that cost us the game, yet he seemed to come in for very little criticism; again it was Ramsey who seemed to get the brunt of the whining after that game, even though he did nothing wrong -
when the truth was that the whole team played poorly.

This is what I mean about scapegoating players.

  7. I think there was general agreement that Ramsey (and possibly Djourou) are indeed scape goated. It's just your OP made a much bigger issue of it by naming a whole host of players that are in fact hardly ever criticised. This is why it was wrong.

Anyway - here's an objective view on Ramsey's season:

  8. Interestingly this shows that it is the defensive part of Ramsey's game which is so poor. His attacking play is not that bad at all, except his finishing.

So, when we see him week in week out, what we are actually witnessing is a player who can't hold or win possession well - very obvious - and who cant convert chances - again very obvious. The parts of his game that are not so bad are less obvious.
