Just received a text supposedly from DVLA stating they've been trying to contact me to refund £48.84 road tax and asking for bank details, ID, mother's maiden name and NI number. The text came with a phone number +447765138803 so don't fall for it. I just responded with F*ck off...

Sounds pretty genuine to me. If I PM you with my details would you mind awfully forwarding them on for me, please?

<laugh> That's not all, Uber. Sorry to bring bad news, but your computer has a virus that only some blokes in Islamabad can fix. They'll be calling you shortly for a credit card number

Thanks Goldie. I’ll have my card ready, but at the moment I’m just drawing out some fake tenners from the cashpoint for the nice police officer that called me and warned me that my bank is part of a huge counterfeit operation.

It's just comforting to know there are so many helpful people around. What a time to live in. It's been a joy to set up all those direct debits for Nigerian gentlemen with their amazing business offers that they are generously sharing with me.
