Sunderland fans talking about £6-£8m for him....would rather Wickham based on his age and he's not made of glass like Fletcher is.
Yes. Very much so. We have mugged Saints. We can also forget Loic Remy now. He says he will stay unless a BIG club comes calling.
Steve Bruce would have plans for every eventuality. He probably has lists of players in every position just in case the unexpected happens.
Christ no, I said yesterday that I hoped it wouldn't end up being Fletcher, even being linked to him is a worry.
I still think Deeney could happen, with these statements half the time they are just smokescreens. I think he would be a great acquisition as well as we have lacked a powerful striker for a while and he also has a great eye for goal. Dembele would be a brilliant signing, for his height and build he has some of the best footwork I've seen in football
I like Fletcher. But he’s always injured, way too expensive and is much better as a burden on Sunlan than us. Plus, as pointed out, he’s a target man type striker (thought he did really well in that 9 man game against us actually). So, I would actually rather not sign another striker than waste **** loads on him. Defoe occurred to me too, as a loan deal, but I can’t imagine he’d sign for us. He’d probably sign for someone like QPR or his old club WHU as Allardyce seems like to like having enough strikers to fill a full team.
Everybody keeps saying about the goals to game ratio but it was clear that from the semi final onwards, 9 of the match day squad had their eyes on the final and we didn't score as much as we could/should have.
Pacy striker who can run the channels and get in behind defenders. Played under Harry Redknapp at Portsmouth and then at Spurs. Probably wouldn't cost more than £8m from Toronto where it's rumoured he hasn't settled. Highy doubtful he'd turn down a move to the Premier League again, plus it'd help keep his England chances (or what's left of them) alive. It's not laughable to be linked with a current Manchester United first teamer and England player, but you've laughed off my suggestion that it could be Defoe. I am quite fearful of your riposte.
No thanks, he'll be 32 soon. Wouldn't minding on loan but wouldn't want us to waste our hard earned on him. For a player who relies on pace it won't be long before it dries up and he becomes rather useless at this level.
It don't think Defoe relies on pace. He's a striker with pace, but he relies more on movement to get the extra yard. I presume he is friends with Hudd as well, so that will help.
Cook a cat, really? Didn't realise there was that much money floating around the MLS. Could loan him I suppose.
