If I was to leave the forum, I’d simply just not log in again.

Quite interesting is the action of requesting your account to be deleted.

    Very suggestive.

As independent experts have stated that a name change has no value, indeed it could diminish the brand identity, perhaps we should start by ending the needless re-naming process that has not yet started; allegedly!

Easy this frugality, isn't it <cheers>

If it's about generating more money than changing the name, my suggestion's to leave the name alone. <ok>

****ety ****, I've just ****ed another thread up by not reading things through first. <doh><laugh>

How about we change the name to Manchester United? Our colours will be a red shirt and white shorts. If we only fool one in twenty gullible Asians into buying our shirt City will make a mint.

Isn't Mr Allam's idea based on a belief that Asians are soft in the head and will snap up something if it has got a tiger in its name? Basically AA thinks Asians are children.

No. We should be able to fill it twice over. Accepting 25,000 crowds (more like 15,000 when we aren't in the PL) with our catchment area is pathetic.

He just said he didn't want to be associated with it the board any more.

He also said he would commit to research and then consultation before doing anything, which he's now admitted was a lie. You can't trust a word the man says.

At least this thread is showing why Dr Allam knows more about running a business than anyone on here.

There's plenty of other threads to discuss the good Dr. Allam on. Can we stick to alternative suggestions?

Interesting to note, that from the vehemently opposing group, only PLT has come up with anything.

How would everyone feel about hiked ticket prices to generate the revenue if it prevents the name being shortened?

It also shows what a deceitful, lying, deluded, egotistical maniac he is as well.

As dirty as I may feel about it, I think maybe we should push the council on reopening negotiations on selling the Allams the KC. As I said, investment should be encouraged. We're bending over backwards to get Siemans into this city (which is good), but we're rejecting the Allam's private money. I do realise these are on a different scale however.

The clubs biggest tangible asset should be the stadium, making money from food sales, drinks, car parking, concerts, conferences, sports & leisure. At a time when councils are closing some of our sporting/leisure facilities and the Allams are willing to spend money on creating some (just like the spent money on the squash championship) - should we play his game and put pressure on the council to sell? Afterall, they work for us so is more realistic than most other plans.

P.S. I agree with above. As annoyed as I am about the name change and the way they've gone about it, I've now actively started avoiding the threads moaning about him.

I'm glad you said that because comments like that mean I'm well down the list for Mr Allam's libel lawyers.

Ok so lets have a think about this.....someone has an idea that could bring investment in and it's expected to be shared on the Internet first.

Chazz what benefit does changing the name bring?

The only experts to talk on the matter say it will bring none and is therefore pointless. Surely we should keep our name until proven it can benefit us not the other way round.

If you are just Wum'ing fair enough, but there is no proof a name change would increase revenues.

I am pretty certain in the Premier League Swansea, Norwich and WBA don't have much bigger revenues than us yet their financial models are working fine.

But, unfortunately, we have only averaged over 25,000 during Carter's era and the 1966 promotion winning team. Even under Terry Neill when we looked as though we could go up to Division 1 for the first time and reached the 6thnround of the cupnwe averaged under 20,000. In the list of clubs all time averages we are one place below Luton.
Admittedly we could get more than 25,000 in. But only for certain games because they would be rubberneckers wanting to see Stevie G, Rooney etc... They wouldn't be supporting City and would be nowhere to be seen for the lesser games. Then, if we went back down and crowds dropped it would be even worse in a larger stadium.
