Aside from the obvious issues (which Im not sure I could get past for starters anyway), there’s just no feeling there regarding any of the clubs for me.
Rivalries, thoughts, ambivalence etc etc about other English sides have taken a lifetime to establish, through watching City against them or catching other games. I’m just not going to get the same thing with the Saudi league. I just don’t care.
I appreciate for a lot of younger fans it’s all about the players but even if the money wins out, I’d much rather watch a lesser quality Premier League game than a better Saudi game. Might start making the English leagues a more level playing field if that happens too.
