Evening lads. I'm off on my best mates stag tomorrow. It's the usual fare of alcohol, amazing pastel suits, brown leather tassled loafers and slick hair. Yes we will look like a bunch of ****ers but if you can't do that on a stag night when can you? The plan is to meet up for breakfast in Leeds, catch the train to York around 11, head to the races, storm the Pimm's tent, back loads of winners (that's where you lot come in), food at Slug and Lettuce, train to Leeds, more bars, strippers, casino (escorts optional at this stage). As you can see, as the best man and only confirmed racing fan I am under a hell of a lot of pressure to give out some sage pieces of advice to my less equine orientated friends and to be honest gentlemen, I call upon your help in my hour of need.

My contribution to the stag would be CONFESSIONAL 3.35 with 11-1 looking a monster price. Have a great day and night!

Im seriously starting to lose interest in flat racing from a betting perspective, tomorrow is my last chance at redemption before i go off it altogether! Ill have a look at the cards then post some selections so you all know what to avoid in a bit!
15.00 York- Mijhaar- 4/1 Has the hood on for the first time tomorrow, lightly raced, very talented with only 6 races under his belt who has alot more to offer. Produced a career best when only beaten by 1/2 length to Gatewood @ royal ascot on similiar ground which will suit.
15.20 Newmarket- Ortensia - 9/1 NAP First of all she has the main man Willy Buick on board at the moment this boy can do no wrong. She ran well below expectations in the kings stand at ascot, but she did get worked up and the race went completely against her, tomorrow will be different. She definately has the class to win, that was showed when beating Sole Power in the Al Quoz Sprint (turf) in Meydan. She has weight in hand, plus she he will appreciated the ground tomorrrow, so with all those factors together she is my NAP of the day tomorrow.
LOL wooly............he..........is a mare, which is why SHE gets a 3lb mares and fillies allowance.........LOL But I do agree that SHE is in with a very good chance on ground SHE will enjoy ;-)
Cheers sticklaaar I did mean her, had a long day today and been chilling with the beers tonight lol. Whos your pick for the race?
Tossing up between her and SOCIETY ROCK. Too soft for Bated Breath IMHO but Dettori's mount is an interesting one!
Dettori's mount is VERY interesting, but if taking a pot luck stab is the order of the day then I'm stabbing at Strong Suit to come good But just for Quel ....... Bonnie Brae will NOT lose in the 14-40. Probably
If the ground was on the firm side, I would be all over Bated Breath. but he wont appreciate the ground whatsoever, frankies mount I havent really seen much of so cant really comment, but been looking at her form and it is an intresting one, one I think is being over looked and if back to form will have a big chance who will also like the ground is Strong Suit! Looks one of the class horses in the field but just cant be having him!
Woolcombe, I'm sorry to go against you, but I'm napping Dandy Boy, currently 10/1 and 11/4 a place on Betfair. I was very impressed with him at Ascot- he was next to last in his group at halfway and yet won going away by 2-3 lengths on that side. Waffle came with a real rattle on the other side to get within a length, but that form's rock solid- he gave Waffle 6lbs and the latter was the only horse to give Deacon Blues a race last year. He's been backed down from 20/1 this week to as low as 9/1 currently. He'll love the ground (he stays a mile) , and his trainer said at Ascot "he'd got him in great condition." If Bated Breath and Strong Suit defect (likely one or both), his odds could really tumble tomorrow.
My own selection tomorrow is a strong fancy for John Louis in the 5.05 Newmarket at 7/1. Last race working out exceptionally well.
