I suspect he didn't, I think Assem was very much responsible for the signing. And I didn't say he wouldn't play him, he'll get his chance at some point(probably quite soon if Evans doesn't improve), but he has to prove himself before he's ranked above anyone else.
George Boyd is an experienced Championship player who's been playing in the league all season, Fathi has never played in English football and hasn't played any league football at all for a year now, the two are hardly comparable.
And he wasn't good enough, plenty to judge him on in my opinion, so I don't think he'll make it here.
More of a risk to play Fathi being a defender than Gedo an attacker last night. Understand Fathi came in to train on Sunday by all accounts. Whilst he failed to impress at the Blunts five years ago he is said to be a far better player now and a regular in the National side ahead of Elmo !! Certainly Gedo looks fit mobile and strong enough if his 45mins last night was owt to go by and fingers crossed can continue to hit the ground running as Brucey hoped.
What thick **** would actually want to see McShane play right back ahead of Rosenior, or ahead of anybody in a 442? I cannot understand how this guy has fallen so far from being one of our finest last season... "The formation doesn't suit him"... fair enough, a bit of a **** reason but let's buy into that for a moment... the formation's now changing... "Stick McShane there"... Incredible. And the logic in the argument is this: "McShane plays well at RB, he doesn't get forward and keeps it simple." Yet he has **** all pace and gets torn to shreds by wingers whilst already admittedly offering sod all going forward. And "Rosenior's crosses sometimes go into row Z " (an exadgeration). Yet he gets forward and does everything McShane doesn't/can't. Who is the better right back? Take the ginger tinted glasses off boys, you look silly.
You're taking my post there and replying to that. Silly ****. I'd sooner see Rosey at right back, I think anyone would other than Steve Bruce, I just said it's not the end of the world if Macca plays there which is likely as Elmo has managed to run the right wing on his own all season so far anyway, so I'm sure he can manage just aswell when he has a defender behind him. And was also saying McShane did absolutely nothing wrong when he moved there last night to the people saying "he's a **** right back". Rosenior's crossing always ends up in row Z, not sometimes. McShane got torn to shreds by wingers in days gone by, even an amputee with a wooden leg would have skinned McShane then. Looks a totally different player this season, only player I can remember get the better of him more than once in a game is Antonio away at Wednesday.
As an aside to the formation discussion: This kids for FREE thing, or £40 family ticket - I know some people interested in taking their kids - just curious as to what City class as a 'kid'. Seems stupid that they don't specify an age for the 'kids' to be able to get the deal. I imagine it's up to the 'Junior 11-15' bracket?
