    5.50 Kempton

    Hurricane Lady 11/1 NAP

Bit baffled about the price of Mike Murphy's 4 year old who I think will go very close to landing this 7f event. Formerly with Walter Swinburn, she joined her current connections at the back end of last year and she was a little disappointing on her first 3 starts for current connections starting initially off a mark of 80. However, I think these runs can be put down to soft and heavy ground being unsuitable and she bounced back to form on her last start off a mark of 74 when running a very good 1.5L beaten 3rd in a 1m Class 4 handicap last month. After breaking a bit slowly, she made good progress after being switched right out wide as she made some very good progress late on and she was never nearer than at the finish. The form of that race looks very strong with the winner Speedi Mouse scoring again subsequently on her next start off a 4lb higher mark. The 2nd Dixie's Dream also franked the form by running an excellent race upped in grade when narrowly going down off a 2lb higher mark. The 4th Mrs Greeley has also ran 2 good very races since, the latest a very good 2nd today upped in class. All in all, it was very much a return to form and I definitely think she's going improve for that run.

She races today over 7f in the same grade at Kempton off the same mark. She looks well handicapped on her form last year given she was a head 2nd off a 3lb higher mark and at the time she was very much a progressive filly who seemed as if she would definitely be competitive off a mark in the 80s. Despite things not panning out that way so far, I definitely think she's going to prove quite a bit better than her current mark in time. Its quite interesting that connections have dropped her back in trip given she was staying on very well LTO, but I think connections could possibly adopt different tactics today. Last year for her previous trainer, she showed that she was a tactically versatile animal as she made all to win on one occasion and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if connections utilised those tactics today. However, I wouldn't be overly concerned if she was settled off the pace either as she's proved very effective in this fashion also. Although she hasn't raced at the track since her debut (well beaten) she ran very well at Linfield and Wolverhampton so I amn't overly concerned. In the same grade as her last start, I think she has an excellent chance to win this today and 11/1 completely overstates her chances in my eyes. If unsuccessful today, I definitely think she'll reach the winners enclosure very soon so she's a horse that I would suggest following.
