Katla ran well to finish 3rd, Top Smart was given an awful ride by Dominic Elsworth to grab 3rd and the day was rounded off by hitting the crossbar in a big way as Legendary Times lost about 10L at the start before running on to finish 3rd. Would have won IMO had he broken on terms. Typical Saturday
Somerset to Haydock is a bloody long way and as Aiden Coleman says, Jeremy Scott wouldnt be taking FLORIDA QUAYS all that way if he didnt think he had a big chance. On pedigree the Henderson hotpot will surely struggle to get the trip. I hope they go a proper gallop!
Thought he left him with far too much to do today Stick. I know he has to be played late but I think it was poor judgement on Elsworth's part who could have gotten after him a little sooner. He flew in the last furlong or so and was only beaten by 4L in the end. Perhaps awful was too strong a word, especially as he gave him such a good ride the last day.
I see where you are coming from ROTO but the much stiffer finish at Sandown last time would have helped immensely too. Will still be worth noting next time out.
