Huge controversy in the boat race but the underdogs win at a tasty 2/1. First there was a swimmer and the race was stopped halfway for a good half an hour. Then the boats clashed and an Oxford crew member lost his oar. The umpire said it was Oxford's fault and Cambridge romped to victory. Oxford are fuming feathers and now one of their crew is unconcious in the boat.

I doubt it will help but I've gone with Gulf of Naples. Johnston's doing all right as always and De Sousa on board helps. 9/2 seems a decent price to me.

Jeannie Galloway in the next. Think it will get the run of race and could be tough to pass

Simon Holt was right about Thimaar, will be the launching pad to better things - he's entered in the Group 2 Yorkshire Cup.

I really liked that run by Thimaar, he looks a real late developing horse and could be going places

Second has less scope and to me looked the fitter of the pair. I wouldn't be surprised to see him disappoint next time.

He ran around when entering the straight NASS so I just think the experience would do him good! We shall see.

I see Ms Balding is getting major criticism on twitter for her presentation of the Boat Race. Not watched it, but surely she can't wait to get with proper professionals (and Emma Spencer) on C4?
