Not saying the Allen deal was his ultimate demise , just that the Allen deal showed he was in unchartered territory when it came to financial backing and lost the meaning off the value of money a bit .Same with Moyes at Man U.

I think that Brendan was /is comfortable in recruiting players he knows and has worked with previously.

It worked for him (and us) with the signings of Sinclair, Borini and Gylfi.

He tried it at Liverpool, he signed Joe & Borini virtually immediately, and tried but failed to get Gylfi.

I sometimes wonder how things for him and Liverpool would have turned out if he had signed Ash and not Allen straight away. Perhaps with Ash in defence and Suarez upfront, they might have won the PL in 2013/14...... ifs, buts and maybes <cheers>

It might be easier to print the names of Swansea players Rodgers didn't try to get when he got to Liverpool .As for Williams , he seems to scratch his chin every season during transfer windows but he always runs on on the pitch when the windows close

I think most Managers go down the road of signing players they know. That also applies to their support staff. Comfort zones, etc.

    "ifs,buts and maybe's". Wouldn't this place be dull without them ? <cheers><cheers>

The Ospreys weren't so rich - they only had a Halfpenny on their books, until they released him.... <laugh>

Hi chaps,I'm just back from a long weekend in crazy Marrakech (whistles)
Well happy with the 3 points at the Villa though my mates who went said we were not that good first half but picked up second.
Those 3 points were big for us.Cracking Siggy goal.
Hope you've all been getting on well.
