How very dare you Sir. The Champ will forgive you this one indignation. I am after all the inaugural not606 Tipping Competition Champ. There were rumors the Champ banged in a 12/1 winner to win the final with something in hand.
OK guys enough Bob bashing, I just wondered where he picked that monniker up from. Besides, without characters how dull would life on here and outside be. Seems to be a dry morning in the south despite the doom and gloom so dont discount the top of the ground horses!
Morning all, One that I will have a couple of quid on e/w in the Imperial Cup will be Sporting Boy who I think may well place and is currently 40/1. My reasoning is that early last year he came second and then won 2 races when being up the front after having a race where he had been held up and finished down the field. he then had a near 5 month break. He was then held up in his next race and finished down the field in 11th. The following week and the week after he wins both races when being close to the front before having a 4 month month break. He has shot up the ratings and made a return last week to finish 6th but there seems to be a little pattern with this one. A win today and a quick appearance next week? Probably not but I hope you see my logic behind this. Should know my fate after a furlong or two.
Morning guys, one that took my eye straight away today is ROCKAWANGO 33/1 for no other reason that its James Ewarts only runner at Sandown today and he has a 7lb claimer on board who is there for his only ride. He has looked very progressive in his runs to date and last time out showed enough on soft ground in Handicap Company to suggest that he wont be far away from winning a race any time soon. I know from infomration received from Heisenberg earlier in the season that connections to this horse really liked him and thought he could be a decent type. Im wondering if his races todate have been in preparation for this race today. I think he is worth a little EW money on the grounds that conditions should suit, he is 7lbs better off than his first run in Handicap Company when he was a beaten 3 1/4L 2nd on Soft Ground to the very useful Nicky Richards trained SIMPLY NED who is entered in two races at Cheltenham next week.
Just noticed WillHill are going 1/4 5 places in the supreme. Regardless of how many runners on the day. An incredible offer i think. Can only see 12-14 runners. And a few seemingly have no chance.
Scrub that, just been out for a walk with the dog and the rain really has got into the ground. Very soft underfoot and quite slippy. A day for the mudlarks at Sandown! Cant believe Cheltenham will be anything better than soft come Tuesday either!
Wayward Lad: Good points on Rockawango, a sporting bet in this usual wide-open handicap..................
Can see Johnston/Fanning getting a double with Broxbourne and Skytrain at Wolves later on in the afternoon. Will have them two and Wheres Reiley should get his hat trick up aswell. Another one going for his hat trick is Wilde Pastures in the 4.35 Ayr.
Morning all That Imperial Cup is a trappy affair - I'm on Mr Mole and Sporting Boy ew - now Wayward has talked well about Rockawango, and I've taken another look at Pine Creek. In his last time but one outing, it reports that he won "cheekily". I'm sorry - he won taking the absolute piss out of McCoy who was flat out riding like a demon on Irish Bucanneer. Cruised up holding his horse he only won by a head, but if he'd unleashed it could have been much more. LTO he was riden similarly, but I think O'Regan misjudged the pace, and the leader wasn't stopping, he seemed to realise his mistake halfway up the finishing straight and gave PK 3 or 4 slaps, went past Ubaldo Des Menhies going away. He's been backed this morning, and I'm wondering if this has the potential to win this. But I'm not going to throw any more dosh at this race!
Be interesting to see what Mike De Kock gets out of Treasure Beach, I will be surprised if he takes to the tapeta but you you never know, whatever he does today he will improve a lot for the run and he could be a player at a price on World Cup night, De Kock works wonders with these types of horses.
Re Rockawango,,, Wayward is spot on Hughsey gave me this first time out but didnt fair well but he did say dont despair its a better horse than that,, and he proved right I HAVE NOT HAD THE WORD TODAY, not spoke to hughsey but was with Phil kinsella this morning and he never said any thing,,, but will be on Ew thanks Wayward stay frosty
15:15 Sandown - Shammick Boy e/w (With no other reason than young jockey Ryan Mahon did me a big favour on Thursday with his winner at Wincanton, will have my only (very small) bet of the day on this one. Has a good a chance as many of them, but the old Imperial Cup is always a teaser. As previously mentioned, Wayward Lad's tip Rockawanga surely is in with a shout too?). Don't talk about lunch on weekends, I know, but being my wife's sauna day (leaving me alone for racing and rugby) opened a can of Jürgen Langbein's Hungarian Goulash Soup. With a bread roll and a touch of Tabasco, bloomin' delicious. So, have a successful day everyone, back all the winners!
Hi guys can someone clarify something for me. I put on a 15p e/w Lucky 31 with William Hill this morning. It says in the e/w lucky 31 box 0.15. I left the stake blank, I thought it would be around a tenner but I didn't know so I left it up to them. They charged me 4.50 (she wrote in the staked box 4.50). I told her to double check, she said that was right again. 1) Is that right? 2) If no, at what rate will I get paid out?
