Frustrating that up to a couple of weeks ago nothing was running because the ground was too firm. Now its fecking bottomless. British weather
navan,2 45: DE NAME ESCAPES ME is pretty short for such a competitive race, but hes far better treated over fences than hurdles, and is in great form,so i hope, the market is right..
You always worry that these superstars can keep doing it year after year but I hope he shows his best today
I'm not complaining but how was Chica let go at that price? On a four-timer and previous soft ground form .... ticked my boxes anyway! Time to sit back and enjoy the Altior show next
Fair play to them for leaving Sceau Royal in,I would have scratched him on this ground. Hope he comes back safe and sound.
yep,it was.cool ride by niall madden! sandown,3 00 TINGLE CREEK CHASE well, what can you say about altior: hes exciting, yes, but i ll be brave and go with SCEAU ROYAL,as i think, hes the only one, that doesnt have to lead neccesarily,so he might have a slight advantage..
As I thought .................. great horse Altior, all ground comes alike to him and he picked Un De Sceaux off very readily indeed.
Altior is King. As much as the media tried to make it sound as if he faced a tough task today he didn't jump to his best but had the race in the bag a fair way from home. He left Un De Sceaux looking ordinary on the run in. 7/4 for the Champion Chase at Cheltenham this morning, now 8/13 for that race with Paddy Power.
4 lengths. Ah well. He seemed to land on top of the first open ditch but after that I thought he was excellent.
Surprised they ran Lalor today. They originally said they would not run him in the race and then said the horse doesn't like it too soft. What happens? They run him in it and then run him on very soft going to boot. Got what they deserved really, he was always too far back and never really travelling. What is the point of planning a campaign and then going against your own plans? Decisions like that really sort out the trainers who know what they are doing from those who seem less astute. No point in believing a horse will suddenly take to ground it doesn't like.
