Sorry - notified in the comp not on here lol, but a winners' a winner! Edit: Not looking good for Ballydine
I’m a sucker for improvers who “might be anything” - which could be another way of saying I keep falling for the hype - so I’ve gone for the Torpillo, Defi De Seuil double at Sandown today.
Nice to see the Ruckers have a big race winner - they do put a hell of a lot of brass into the game, lots of horses.
Surely the worst Grade 1 you will see this season, Torpillo 13/8 ffs, was well exposed as not top class last season. I backed Summerville Boy antepost when he won the Supreme but clearly lost his way a while ago, was a poor race he won last time with the runner up thrashed by Grade 2 horse Angels Breath next time.
and a perfect example of jump form being irrelevant, plenty of people will have guessed correctly backing the winner because it looked such a bad race and there was very few options, but nothing in the form book to tell you it could do that, was beaten off 131 at carlisle 2 months ago
I think Torpillo really is a mudlark and I don't think the chase course at Sandown was anywhere near testing enough for him. Hopefully the green silks will do better on Sceau Royal - although he is now a bigger price than the same owners Janika
Good win for your boys, I think this might finally be the year (but don't say it too loud ) Really looking forward to this next race at Aintree
Thrilling win from Defi, but nowhere need good enough for a Champion chase. Ryanair now I would guess.
