Following my 'seven day session' I caught up on the horse racing which I missed; gotta say that Good Magic (especially) and Hofburg were impressive. Just watched 'The Whitney' and saw that your choice, Diversify, was an impressive winner in the slop. I was surprised to see that 14/1 still available with Wm. Hills.

Obviously desperate for a dig late on a Saturday... There was no tip for Lancelot Du Lac this year and the horse that was tipped, Eirene, clearly got injured or something went wrong during the race. Like anybody else, you are free to ignore any information that anyone posts here.

As a gelding, Lancelot Du Lac will not be retiring to stud, just like gelding Cross Counter will not be running in the St Leger, despite some bookmakers offering odds that the numbskull on ITV then gave out on air. What price the Cross Counter/Masar forecast in the Arc? <laugh>

Indeed, but will they be running in “the slop” on November 3rd at Churchill Downs? According to the report, the race was delayed by three quarters of an hour by a thunderstorm. Mind Your Biscuits was held up far too long given the conditions and never even got to challenge the front running winner. I bet Joel Rosario got a right kicking round the back of the grandstand for that ride.

Rick Violette’s gelding can run in the Breeders’ Cup Classic every year because as a gelding, he will not be retiring to stud. <laugh>

The info for lancelot du lac last year was that connections planned to retire him to stud after landing the 2 year plot with Dettori booked a year in advance while allowing it to start a million to 1 on betfair.

You can obviously see the problem with the "info".

I wonder how many of the leading fancies for the BC Classic will line up for the Travers stakes at Saratoga on 25th August; course the race is limited to three year olds.

Been to the horse racing hall of fame and museum in Saratoga with my Mum but it was in September or October so the meeting was not on.

Remember how Zelzal was going to win at Goodwood last year? I will not mention Al Wukair (oh, I did). Where did Projection finish in the 2017 Stewards’ Cup? (somewhere between thirteenth and fifteenth)

The great thing about public forums is that they allow people to go and fact check references to historical events. Before I even started, I knew that you were wrong about one thing: Dettori was booked five months in advance (March), not the year exaggeration that you state.

There is no mention of a two year plot either. There was a whole thread dedicated to the race, started on Thursday August 3rd two days before the race. Mick the jolly sailor pointed out that Lancelot is a gelding on August 4th. If you go to page 3 you will find an explanation of why he put retire to stud; however, it is only a year after the fact so it is still recent enough for you to grumble.

I have no idea whether the horse traded at a million to one on Betfair but I strongly suspect that is totally fantasy on your part. Had it traded at a million to one I am sure that would have made a headline somewhere “punter wins fortune on Stewards’ Cup winner on Betfair”. Betfair would have publicised that one! According to you the next day, it returned 47 on Betfair.

If you are one of the top judges in Europe, it must be at a proper European kangaroo court.

The horse has not been retired, but it did still win the Stewards’ Cup in 2017, which was a nice little pay day for those of us that got on – a group that I suspect did not include you. You need to change your avatar to one that better reflects envy.

Well done on the winner across The Pond, by the way. As I did not see it until Sunday morning, I was not on but I begrudge nobody a winner.
