Morning all...just the one bet today in the big race at Musselburgh..

3.35pm Alright Sunshine 8/1 each way 4 places. Has had a couple of spins over hurdles, the last one not the best effort behind My Drogo but effort before was a decent run. I think this has been the aim. He is only 2lb above his last winning mark but what jumps out with this horse is that he loves Musselburgh being undefeated there in 4 runs. He ran in some decent races last season and I ll be very surprised if he doesn't go close.

    Good luck all! :emoticon-0167-beer:

Will be interested to see how the Skeltons get on today...taking a good raiding party to Haydock but there record at the course is pretty poor. I did like the look of their JP McManus runner in the 2.05pm race but have left it alone. Possibly Harry Skelton can add to his tally of winners and make more inroads to the champion jockey title..

Salt Wind 3/1- Fairyhouse 1.15 has had 5 runs so far and was arguably unlucky not to win around here two starts back. He's ran in some good races and I'd be surprised if he couldn't manage to land this race today based on some of his form thus far.

Solomn Grundy 9/4 - Fairyhouse 1.45 He was a bigger price last night, but I missed that unfortunately. His recent win at Gowran looked very good and he has had some nice runs in behind Cheltenham second Billaway prior to that and also landing a couple of points early in the season. I think he will take some beating today should he arrive in similar form.

Rualiie Buaille 8/1 - Fairyhouse 4.05 ran in that all important race at Leopardstown during the Dublin racing festival that threw up 3 Chelthenham festival winners. The drop back to 2 miles here should be in his favour and he also has scope for improvement on that current mark I think. I'll be backing him to win only but I see some bookies are offerin 5 or 6 places on it, if that suits you're style better.

The two bumpers look very good heats, I couldn't bring myself to decide between three of them in the first and the favourite Letsbeclearaboutit would want to be winning the second one given his form so far in winning twice and only coming second to the 1-2 at Cheltenham, although it wouldn't surprise me too much if Ballycairn runs him close today.

Looking forward to this card today, nice day as well, so best of luck to anyone having a go.

Not so long ago, October of last year, the meeting at Haydock today was pencilled in as one of our Office Staff dos, what were we thinking about, of course we wouldn't be going racing would we...!! Anyway, here's my picks from Haydock today regardless of any work's do...

    1:00 - Emmpresive Lady, 4/1
    1:30 - The Paddy Pie, 6/1
    2:05 - Shantou Express, 9/4

    3:15 - Republican 9/1
    3:50 - Kapa De Lily, 4/1

Just seen Bryan Hughes is riding at Carlisle today and I wouldn't be surprised to see him take the lead in the jockeys title. I m not sure he ll get a 6 timer but I can see him getting a treble...

    15:00 Musselburgh - Copper Knight

(Going to the flat today for my Saturday plunge. Selection on long losing run but is very speedy and has raced against some top handicap sprinters in the past. Goes well fresh, and am sure the Tim Easterby yard has him in top order for his first run of the flat season. Promising young lady apprentice gets the ride and claims a handy 5lb. 8/1 generally available and is the best price at time of writing.)

Best of luck today guys! <cheers>

(Ah, I see Smokey selected it too, that's good!)

I appreciate your optimism! I'd say it increases my confidence that you've put it up the form you're in.

Copper Knight is getting well handicapped now because of a long stretch without winning. His last Handicap win was from a mark of 100 and he lines up today off 87 and with a claimer taking another 5 lbs off. In contrast Easterby's other runner Count D'Orsay looks high on a mark of 100, given that his last two wins came from 91. Count D'Orsay is closely tied with Came From The Dark, based on a half length win from the Walker horse when getting a 1lb, Came From The Dark is 2 lbs better in today.

Came From The Dark has had wind surgery and been gelded now. With Hollie Doyle booked and drawn right in the middle he was of interest in the hope that his surgical procedures have had the desired effect.

Jabbarockie has won from 94 and is on 93 now but Justanotherbottle looks a few pounds high for now.

I decided to go with Came From The Dark as the one who could improve.

3.00 Muss Came From The Dark 6/1
