20/1 Henderson / Geraghty. Should've just kept it simple I was please with the run of Invictus, thought he was going to be involved at the finish 3 out but he just got tired. I'm sure he'll come on for that but no idea where he might go next.
lol Chelsea Invictus should have won if he'd been fitter Lump on Next Sensation in the next at Newbury. And join me in the poor house
King George? I imagine they'll be feeling ambitious. EDIT: The December Gold Cup would be way too soon. Wasn't thinking straight there.
Agreed - if he doesn't get much of a rise for this it would be worth trying for a nice pot. King George would be a nice pot mind
Haha - just changed my previous answer, it's only in a fortnight isn't it? Reconed that might be too soon if he's come out of today fairly knackered. In any case, really pleased to see him run well. I lost my money on him for the RSA, but I'm confident I'll be getting it back sometime soon.
Joan Collins is 80 Oddy and tipped the third at 33/1.. I sided with RC and e/w is little consolation after looking all over the winner.Ran a little free for the first circuit which cost him the race imo #sourgrapes. Well done BG and SNH...really didn't fancy that, thought there were less exposed candidates despite him being only six, this was his 13th run over fences and thought 147 was beyond him.
I'd say a h'cap Oddy and he may well come down a pound or two although difficult to say given how well he entered the race before fitness told. Be very optimistic to consider the KG after that run off 145. Alan King doesn't have many runners in Ireland but there is a €100,000 3m h'cap 'chase at the Leopardstown Christmas meeting which may suit him off his current mark. Difficult to predict what they'll do and all depends how the horse comes out of this.
Cheers Dex and Reebs Pity it was the smallest bet of the day though Some nice racing at Fairyhouse tomorrow. Will have a good look tonight. Initial thoughts are Rule the World looks an insultingly big price at 7-2 against Jezki, though I've always slightly preferred the Supremes form and obviously MTOY done it no harm today.
I was championing RTW before Chelts in March, so I have to agree with your comment Beefy. I'm on at 7-2 plus also Renetti in an earlier race. Good luck
Fairly big reaction from the bookies with the World Hurdle market following AT FISHERS CROSS' defeat today. Out to as much as sevens. It was his seasonal debut. He was by no means beaten when he made that catastrophic error. He has had a setback in his training and his regular partner was not on board. The last fact is the most poignant to me. McCoy choosing to go North for the ride on MY TENT OR YOURS. Does he think more of that horse? Did he know that one was on and the other maybe not? Or did he borrow Barry Geraghtys lucky coin? Whatever the whys and wherefores that was not AT FISHERS CROSS' true running today and come March he will not be far away in the big one!
He'll come on for the run but won't they all? He was getting pushed from a mile and a half out, his jumping lacked fluency throughout. Geraghty is an able deputy. If he wasn't pushed out I'd be very disappointed in those cheeky bookie chappies. I've no doubt he'll run a race in the World Hurdle but I've not seen anything yet that tells me he'll beat Big Bucks (if he's 95% or better) or the criminally underrated Solwhit.
