Yep, no issues with that. There looks like only one class miler from that field- very good, uncomplicated win. He's a miler though not a Derby horse IMO.

Ol' Man River pulling up leaves both him and JFK in doubt for the Derby. Sir Isaac Newton and Zawraq to dominate that race <ok>

Impressive win there from Gleneagles. Re -watching the race a few times had me rushing to look at the pedigrees of Bossy Guest and Cappella Sansevero, who both met with terrible interference. Bossy Guest ran on strongly to finish 4th whilst Cappella Sansevero was almost stopped and not knocked about but ran on well down the field. I was hoping they had Derby pedigrees so I could bang up a post for 2 Derby outsiders. Unfortunately they weren't. So I'm thinking we didn't see the Derby winner there.

The fact 19 go to post proves nobody has a certain idea of the winner of the 2000 Guineas as much as one likes to speculate. Ol' Man River 13/2 is the one I'm on. Joey O'Brien's mount. 2 from 2 as a juvenile and both were very satisfactory wins. He'll have learned an awful lot from that and will have come on a fair bit in the past few months for it. The horse has pace and might stay beyond a mile eventually but this is a good stating point for him. Hopefully the ground stays sound enough and he can land the spoils.

Over at Punchestown it's a pair of Tony Martin handicappers that will be carrying my load also in the shape of:

Heathfield 6/1 Punchestown 3:10
Gallant Oscar 5/1 Punchestown 5:00

Bit of money about for both early this evening and both appear to have serious chances on bare form regardless.

Best of luck folks.

Lovely Barney rubble. Good old Tony Martin.
