Morning all..... I have 3 bets on today ... one of these being free from bet365 for the winning bet of Opening Batsman last saturday. 2.05pm Newbury Romford Pele is the freebie - like this horse and good ground i feel will see an improvement. I have had a very small each way bet on Bridge to Far in the 3.15pm at Newbury. Warmed up in a NH flat race and wasnt given a hard time. Think he has an each way chance in quite a competitive race. Main bet of the day is Calgary Bay in the Grimthorpe. Has top weight but is a big ole horse and can easily carry it. Interesting that A P McCoy is booked and the horses record at Donny reads 1st 1st 2nd !!!!So large each way bet for me and my advice to all is get on board!! Trainer has said he's been waiting for good ground and Calgary Bay is a different beast on good ground......
Cue to Cue3:30 Donny, yard very impressed with her 2nd to Peddlers and think more to come, EW price as it looks a hard race but will be there i hope stay frosty
I spent ages looking at this last night, his best rating of 146, now down to 133, but I can't overlook the fact that he was a Hendo horse, who was then (presumably) injured for two years and moved on to - with apologies to Miss Polly Grundy - a trainer I have never heard of! Too many if's for my liking, and if I had to bet in this, I'd take the Pricewise pick of Garynella, predictably now being plunged on.
I'm sure she will get over it Edit: a quick question ...... if a horse isn't entered in a particular Festival race at the moment, can it still be supplemented, or not?
Morning guys hope all are smashing those bookie blokes two horses from me today TOUBAB 2.20 Doncaster 6/4 finally got the ground it needs and GARYNELLA 3.50 Newbury 3/1 has had a wind op and is working well good luck if you play guys
Stick if you're about have you heard anything positive about THE ROMFORD PELE stepping up to 3miles I know you have you're ears close to Rebecca Curtis yard cheers mate
Welcome to the forum. The gentleman know as heisenburg owns a share in BPG so this one really was "straight from the horse's mouth"
16:00 Lingfield - Takeitfromalady (After yesterday's mind-blowing 7/4 winner, will take a chance with this gelding. Has had a break and seems to go well fresh, so maybe jockey Graham Lee can do the trick). GL everyone!
Anyone know the answer to this? I'm at the point of increasing an ante-post bet, but it's subject to the above question!
4/7 Mad Brian they can keep that. Meydan 5.10 Musir 5/2 I dont particularly like backing horses who failed at stud and return to racing, but Mick De Kock is rather good at his job and he ran a nice race when back last time, if coming on for that run at all he should outclass this lot. The price is right.
Afternoon all. Pub and then town for me later so will see no racing. But one for me today TOOSTRONG 3.35 Navan - 5/2 looked the only winner until 2 out on his chasing debut at Punchestown back in January. Was coming back after a 317 day lay off so probably needed the run. I think he is a good bet at 5/2 today. Not getting involved with the rest of the racing good luck
aye he got rode to sleep by good old betfair eddie, knew there was no pace thats why I fancied Guards Chapel despite the 11 pound turnaround scribe had, thought he would have had the speed to win, baker went from looking very confident to flustered rather quickly, was always going to be that type of race so fair play to betfair
Lucky 31 on my comp picks and just the one single win bet on Pepite Rose in the 3.50 at Newbury. Venetia Williams' mare will appreciate the return to a sounder surface and I think 2m4f is her best trip. She won over just a little further at Newbury this time last year in a listed handicap and I think she'll be raring to go for this today.
Afternoon guys, too many short priced ones about today so going to chance my luck with some double priced fancies all well handicapped to go close EW at Newbury: 2.05 Kayf Arimis 20/1 (NB) 2.40 Fortification 16/1 3.50 Big Fella Thanks 12/1 4.25 Gay Sloane 25/1 (NAP)
Dickie Johnson on Destroyer Depolyed for T.Vaughan here. Either he fancies it, or Ballytober has no chance for Hobbs.
Quite interested in the David Pipe runner Bygones Sovereign in the opener at Newbury. Has struggled on heavy ground on his 2 runs this season but prior to that he finished in front of Alan King's Medinas (now rated 140) - big e/w chance here
