Money came for Dolos but it was the stablemate who landed the spoils.

San Benedeto was hardly winning out of turn with 23 months since his last success. Beaten 82 lengths in his previous two starts, it is always a bit annoying when they come good again out of the blue.

Cyrname beat San Benedeto 61 lengths when they met in a Handicap where today's winner was tailed off in last place. Hey ho.

Dolos travelled well enough early but just as the race was unfolding he had a poor jump and then a bad one right after it. He stayed on a bit after that but was never catching them really. I would try him back at 2 miles and make the running with him if he were mine.

In his Betfair column Nicholls reckoned the winner was a cracking ew chance. Problem I had was that I don't believe a word he says. That does beg the question of course as to why I ever bother reading his column <doh><laugh>.

Multifactorial should run well in the bumper at Navan, has some sort of c&d form, slight drift out to 4s but backed it anyway.

How could that happen? The Racing Post preview said Black Corton had "A good chance" today.

These guys make me laugh, the other week there was a 1/5 Fav described as "One of the leading contenders here" in the blurb for the race.

very open contest.LOOKING WELL;though,is taken to supplement his recent win today,as he won in good style, and even on a career high mark, has to be taken very seriously, especially,as he goes well here..

i think,BREX DRAGO has a top shout,if rediscovering his best irish form.has rather underperformed in recent starts, but to be fair, these were tough handicaps, and hi best effort was a second place to a handicap blot a few starts back.so this is a signifacant drop back in class, and hes with a very good yard,so not dismissed by any means..

ive backed MR DIABLO already a few times this season, and even if he couldnt quite back up his fine run in the troytown chase afterwards,in fairness, these were top races,so he might just appreciate this drop in class today, and get back on the scoresheet.

Getaway Trump didn't do a lot for Champ's form with a very poor run today. He was slightly disappointing in the Betfair but today was a desperate effort. It didn't advertise his previous second to the Ballymore favourite as anything to shout about.

The third in the race won by Champ in December was Kateson and he was thumped when favourite at Haydock last time out. I would imagine Kateson is on the cusp of having his 141 official rating reduced after that recent effort.

Talk about poor quality race report writing.

The ATR website were pathetic in their summation of Dolos in the 2.40 at Newbury today.

Bearing in mind that Dolos was favourite for the race and that people may try to use the race report to assess a future race, it is hardly much help to have summarised the run of Dolos thus:-

    "CHASED LEADERS"

    That's it, two words.

What a joke and why even bother?

Just back from Lingfield, had a great time. As a regular racegoer I think this course is hard to beat. It’s in a beautiful setting with the racecourse the Marriott hotel and spa and if you like a round of golf it has a lovely course. The racecourse itself is well laid out with good views all round. I’ve never been jumps racing as it tends to take place in the week. The bar and food facilities are excellent with a wide selection to meet all budgets and taste .the parade and pre parade are just behind the main stand. Very friendly staff and stewards and a real good vide. We stayed in the hotel which was nice with a bar and terrace over looking the home straight with a nice spa which I took advantage of and a very nice breakfast and I thought the rates quite reasonable.
If you get the chance go , you’ll have a great time and maybe have a few winners. We had a couple of first time race goers in our party and they are going again having had a couple of winners each.

great track for owners as it has one of the best facilities for them, puts some of the fancier southern tracks to shame.
