I have read that in his program notes today, Burnley boss Sean Dyche lamented how no penalty decisions had yet been turned over by VAR. Today his wish came true as a penalty awarded to Chelsea was correctly overturned by VAR and the diving substitute Hudson-Odoi was booked. If they made diving a red card offence, perhaps the cheats would stop doing it. Just a shame that Burnley were 4-0 down at that point...
I am assuming that the Futurity Trophy being switched to Tapeta on Friday evening was something to do with the fact that Arena Leisure own both Doncaster and Newcastle because strictly speaking it should have been re-arranged to Newmarket on Saturday. The fact that the race has been re-opened to other entries is, potentially, good news for other trainers as the six-runner affair scheduled for Doncaster was a joke. At the five day stage there were twelve entries and eleven of them came from Ballydoyle. At least O’Blarney left five in so there was the prospect of each-way betting! Quite why Andrew Balding was the only British trainer interested in chasing £200k is beyond me.
