14:40 Newton Abbot - Muffins For Tea

(This'll do for my Saturday punt at 13/2, did quite well LTO in fairly big field at Taunton, although not at all sure whether he'll have the pace to win this on such a tight track. Will also do a rfc with probable favourite Knockgraffon).

Mark Johnston banged in two impressive winners from his opening 2 Y O's- one at Wolves yesterday and another lovely one at Kempton.

He's going for a hat trick with his opening 3 juveniles in the next at 1.40. As you can imagine, a very short price!

All of them look considerably above average too- no surprise of one or two end up at Ascot but let's see what else comes out.

That Spring Loaded is some horse. Can be waited with and waited with then bursts through for a cosy narrow win. I doubt the handicapper will get to him for his next race unless he is extremely harsh.

Had to mop up some 47.0 with the loose change on EURO CHARLENE at Meydan. Insult of a price that is.

After getting my fingers burned with Flintshire at Meydan last year, I am leaving well alone. Thank goodness they have sent him to America as that means I will not see him before the Breeders’ Cup! I would not touch California Chrome for reasons that have already been given.

Looking at results so far at Meydan, the bookmakers will not be too disappointed with the odds-on banker turned over and only French-trained Vazirabad collecting for punters.

I was given a tip midweek by the boss for a horse that was entered to run in a Listed Race at Auteuil on Sunday but looking on the France Galop website, it was not amongst Friday’s declarations so I do not have to pass that along.

    Close but no ****ing cigar.

Ryan Moore and timing a horse- can never seem to back him when he gets it right and he always nails my selection when against him.

Needed Hermitage Bay for several trebles. Two shorties not even in the first 4.

Wow, what a magnificent racehorse Postponed is. Really impressive in the Sheema Classic.

He looks much-improved Swanny although I'm just a bit careful of Meydan form. He was on the upgrade last season regardless, so he'll be interesting in the summer.
