Cheltenham ON today............going HEAVY, SOFT IN PLACES.
Great that we have such a feast of racing but there will be some tired nags today. Not often it comes up HEAVY at NHHQ!

Have to say, if the Twister has got Imperial Commander anything like fit (and you'd have to think he isn't just going there for a laugh) then he would murder the field in the Argento, getting weight from the lot of them. His chase record at Cheltenham reads 114111P and he has a Paddy Power, Ryanair and Gold Cup in amongst that lot. He won the Paddy Power on soft and was famously beaten a nose by Kauto Star in the Betfair Chase on soft, so conditions will not be a problem for him. I honestly can't see Grands Crus getting home, Hunt Ball will hate it and you're then basically into the handicappers like Cape Tribulation, Weird Al and Midnight Chase.

Agree with you Oddy - a guaranteed stayer on his favoured going.

Have also taken the 14-1 about Williams Wishes ew <ok>

Cracking cards at Cheltenham and Leapordstown. A genuine trials day with some questions getting answered. Imperial Commander should win if fit but it looks a match with Grand Crus now with the withdrawals. Cleeve looks a cracker but I have an each way fancy for Kentford Grey Lady. Will relish the extra distance and getting weight all round. Also at a big price like Shadow Catcher in the big Leapordstown hurdle.

    Some more fancies
Chelt 13.10 Our Mick 10/1 win
Leap 14.15 Lake Windermere 9/2 win
Leap 14.45 Hidden Cyclone 6/1 win.
    Chelt 16.10 Barbatos 9/1 win

A race to watch the 15.00 at Cheltenham may also see the winners of March's Albert Bartlett and Neptune slugging it out

Oh bugger! But at least it only cost me a single bet - Tidal Bay ruined all my multiples :(

I hadn't looked at the Boylesports Hurdle until Furiousiceman mentioned it but now my bet on WW is void I'm taking the 16's about LEAH CLAIRE ew <ok>

The women's tennis final is incredibly stale so far. No excitement in there yet.

I'm in England at present. Arrived yesterday and couldn't believe the amount of snow here. Beautiful sunshine this morning though.

    Welcome back Ron :)

Bright and sunny here also (Essex) but the Reebok had 6" of snow last night and are asking for volunteers to help clear pathways.

My brother is going up there for the match against Everton and has a shovel in his car boot.

I have suggested he use it to smack Zat Knight in the face if he's up to his usual bad standard <laugh>

What a fantastic card at Cheltenham today and really looking forward to it. Disappointed Williams Wishes is a non runner today as was gonna have quite a large each way bwet on him. Imperial Commander is a fascinating runner today. He has only been beaten once first time out and that was to the mighty Kauto Star so surely if Twisty has him anywhere near his best he wins...
With it being heavy Im gonna go against Oscar Whisky and I agree with a lot of you on Reve De Sivola. He's a different animal this year back over the sticks...I like the look of Whisper in the 3pm... He was a 6 lengths winner in his last race was eased down heavily and I have a sneaky feeling he will be special.
Mainly just watching and enjoying the racing today but gonna have an each way bet on Imperial Commander.

Finally just out of interest do any of you see it slightly odd that Weird Al is being aimed at the Grand National? He's such a fragile animal I just dont see it but interesting I thought that McCain came out earlier in the week to say Weird Als main target is that race .... Mmm

Cant believe Mala Beach is 13/2, unbelievable bet, the 7/1 is gone about Hidden Cyclone as I suspected.

    9/4 Mr Watson <laugh> <yikes>

I think I will have to get the old lay button out. Surely this is a drifter on course, becauase anyone backing at 9/4 needs locking up.

I dont know what has blown my mind more, how big Mala Beach is or how short Mr Watson is.

This calls for a cup of tea and a snout.
