Tough little bumper that one and I could make a good case for at least four. I am leaving it well alone but BETTER GETALONG would get my vote.
Johnson has ridden Scorpion Princess of late, but has the ride on the Hobbs trained Westend Story. Jocks can be good to follow....sometimes.
4/1 Vautour with Hills, what a fecking price! This looks the absolute bet of the Christmas period, in a few hours time people will be wondering how in Christ's name he was ever that big
Just got my first bit of good news today - I can go home tomorrow Big move now for this Elliot horse in the Juvenile hurdle at leopardstown - into 7/2 with Mullins fav drifting like a barge
After he's finished 7 lengths behind Don Cossack? Trust the market, I reckon; there's clearly no confidence behind the Mullins horse, while the ground has come right for the Don. Conti is good e/w value imo. Cue Card? Well I love that horse but I just can't see it today. Wouldn't be too heart broken get beat by the Tizzard clan though.
I think its a match between the top 2 so at 4/1 I'm more than happy to have a right good bet. Cue Cards had 3 bites of the cherry and been beaten around 30l combined in those. Unfortunate what happened 2 years ago, he was clearly the best horse that day. Conti looks regressive to me, his form is tailing off, beaten 3 out of his last 4 starts and the sole win a neck or so against Ballynagour? Hasn't a hope of getting near the Irish pair on that. Never taken on a field with this class either, won a couple of soft touch King Georges, wont be near good enough today. Cue Card's win over him the last day looks over rated form. Smad Place was 14s last weekend and I nearly backed him each way but didn't, and I see GuessWise has put him up so he's ended up hugely overbet now. I'm hopeful if Vautour jumps he'll win it well. Don't think anything in the field is in his league when he brings his A game.
Limerick/Wetherby off/Dove Mountain a non runner-that's half my bets gone, time to read the RP alternative wagers!!
Liberty Jack in the 2 30 @ Down Royal surely has to be worth a decent e/w @ 100/1, was a pretty decent horse on the flat and has arguably the best young jockety in the business onboard in Mr J P Mckeown, shame it's gotta carry top weight and that it's a maiden hurdle so it's 1/5 odds 1,2,3 with 21 runners LOL i've just talked myself out of it while writing this, fk it have a 5er e/w just as it's won me some money in the past and it could do a Maoi Chin Tire
Vautour in the King George for me and my only bet of the day. He could be a real superstar! I recall the great Dessie had question marks over stamina and look what he did in this race and in the early days of Kauto he was seen as more of a 2 miler. I would love to see Cue Card win but I cant see it.
A Sizing Network makes his handicap debut in 2.20 at Ltown.5/1 looks a nice price for a trainer who has a decent record at this meeting.
All the very best to the forum boys n girls out there, I trust we all had a good time... Gotta be one of my favourite days in the whole year when it comes to sports to be watched today... Cricket, rugby, horses football... Just not enough time in the day to watch it all or take it all in... So ive only looked at the Kempton card for today and here are my fancies for the card... 12.50 - Altior, 11/8 * 1.25 - Anthony, 6/1 2.00 - Southfield Royale, 11/2 2.35 - Faugheen, 1/3 * 3.10 - Don Cossack, 2/1 * 3.45 - Bells n Banjos, 8/1 * the shorter ones put in trebles, n doubles, with e/w singles n doubles on the others... Should be a great days racing with hopefully a few class acts showing us what they have in the tank... Good luck to all who are playing today, lets hope for some right royal entertainment...
I keep looking at Net D'Ecose and thinking it's not a 16/1 shot. I would not be astonished if he out ran those odds and gave the front two something to think about today.
I know some very excited members of the owners group syndicate horse Bagad Bihoue who makes his debut in the 3.55 Wincanton bumper today and hope he shows plenty of ability for them to have some fun with. 7/4 at the moment so I'll see how the day goes before deciding on a play or not! Smashing days racing. Hands up if you've backed The New One at 8/1 - I certainly have. I was expecting 7/2 and this is likely to be the only time of the year Faugheen has any questions to answer (win this and he'll be Evens fav for March again) so if he is below par for any reason, I fancy Touchy Fehily might pick up the pieces and I wonder if Noel has any surprises up his sleeve in terms of making the running etc etc. No qualms if Faugheen hoses in by 10L- can't be having Old Guard with anyones money, his form is a good bit below The New One and a good bit further behind Faugheen. The King George is an easy one to decipher- Al Ferof on the snaf with a shrewd jockey and team who will let these fancied runners fall in a hole before swooshing to victory. Joking aside of course, I think Vautour could dominate if they are brave enough to dictate from the front BUT he seems to save his best for Cheltenham, could be hassled for the lead by a few of them, and I do think Don Cossack is the one who looks made for 3m, flat right handed track. I'd back Vautour to turn around all form with any of these at Cheltenham though because his record there on spring ground and left handed is something completely different. The Don today, but not in March would be my assessment. Whatever the result- smashing race. I thought earlier on Southfield Royale looked a solid enough case at 13/2 in the novice chase, especially if he can turn it into a battle. A nice Arkle indicator over in Ireland where we see the brilliant Supreme winner Douvan renew his rivalry with Sizing John, but this being the first time over fences. Dominant win for Douvan there and he'll be very short in the Arkle betting. If anyone wants a rival for him- Vaniteux runs at Kempton tomorrow I believe and the 10/1 for the Arkle will be halved if he wins impressively as I hope he can. Have some fun guys and enjoy the festive period.
I read that TNO has missed some work and will need this today - should still be good enough to finish second to Faugheen at a respectable distance. Open Eagle in the first at Kempton. Hope you all like the new Avatar
Gotta be worth a e/w at 50/1 Nick Gifford is off to saddle outsider Cashanova, reporting his Indian owner has flown in this week to see his four-year-old run and this was the course that was going to produce as near the good ground he wants. By Bruce Jackson, live from Kempton 34 mins ago Think Open Eagle will win tho
