He won't jump straight though. Very hard race to get right to my eye. I hope Vautour wins for the legacy but with my Cheltenham punting hat on I hope he loses because we'll be getting a meaty price in March if he ends up tailed off. He should be in the Ryanair.
Did he get to choose or did the chubby one put his foot down? Either way it will be fantastic to see THE NEW ONE with a "proper" jockey on board at last. The one I am looking forward to seeing at Kempton is NATIVE RIVER. For my money the best novice chaser we have seen in the UK this season. Also looking forward to seeing SEEBRIGHT in the last, a horse I like a lot and one with very few miles on the clock. This could just be a pipe opener though!
Old Guard was all out to beat Hargam and some Mullins Closutton gallop victim, even given that TNO has had a lot of physical issues recently surely you would have to chance him by assuming you have absolutely no chance of beating Faugheen on Old Guard. Appears Nicholls has made the decision for him, Ruby Walsh in a situation like this could make the choice but I dont think Sam had a choice. The RP article has no quote just says "Twiston-Davies will fulfil his duties to trainer Paul Nicholls on Old Guard"
The way he has been riding you would have thought Nicholls as his boss would have insisted he ride The New One.
I think Nass is pretty near spot on in his assessment. Laughably I think he is seriously overlooked and under-rated by the layers. He will win at Kempton provided he gets a strongly run race and his price for the RSA will halve.
If the pair of you are that keen on Native Ruler then I think I will go for him on Boxing Day Any considered selections for the second race anyone?
Blue, West Wizard has changed to Twisters and makes his chase debut - change of scenery might bring out the "Supreme horse" in him. Running off 129 with his reputation you would think he could easily be better than that and has Hatch's 3 lb claim to boot.
I would like to take a chance on West Wizard interesting that the richest man in Wales has taken him away from Mr Henderson and put him with NTD was obv talented but quirky going over hurdles went off odds on on all but one of his 6 starts and all but one were interesting at Kempton so i wonder why he never ran anyway but Kempton and the sandown race! But looked a sort to improve over hurdles. So if he's gonna win at the track from the looks of it it will be this track
I just can't be having that when he has been taken away from the forums favourite trainer. Twisty hands are not magic hands. I think I speak for everyone on the forum, and I do mean everyone, when we throw our weight of support behind Mr Henderson and acknowledge the mans talents. If he cannot unlock the goods then surely old boy Twister will struggle. I suggest we all email Mr Corbyn our Prime Ministers questions at the earliest available opportunity and, in unison, quiz Mr Cameron around why Wales' richest man could ever come to the decision of switching yards for his horse from the real Knight of our sport- Sir Nicky Henderson. I say the marbles have truly been lost I say they truly have been lost. All hail Mr Henderson
Thank you Tward and Wooly I will go with the wizard as I note he won at the course last time heavily eased. Thoughts on the lucky last anyone? I have not really been following the jumps but always look forward to this meeting so fancy a play. I have seen and been impressed with Alitor already so he is in, I cannot get the impression that Vautour made at Cheltenham out of my mind and consider him a follow until beaten horse, so he is in. Stick and Nass seem very keen on Native River and the West Wizard from Tward and Wooly. I am Happy to call it a yankee at that but if anyone has any strong view with regard the last It would be appreciated. So far I have 12.50 Alitor 1.25 West Wizard 2.00 Native River 2.35 No Bet 3.10 Vautour 3.45?
Interesting to see emphatic November handicap winner Open Eagle coming over for the first at Kempton. If it were to get really testing he could give Altior plenty to think about (although he is a Montjeu
I also like Tea For Two though, but a bit concerned that Lizzie is riding without a claim against the best around.
