Seen a lot worse 6/4 shots than a race fit BDM at a flat track on deep ground

Yep, I'd have him around 4/6 against this lot

Young Harry Cobden has 3 rides at Haydock and I reckon he will win all 3 :) pays roughly 20/1.

In the 1.50 I also fancy CHTI BALKO ew.

It might be a watching brief for me tomorrow although that said I do fancy Le Rocher in the race before the Betfair chase which looks a fascinating contest.

Is Bristol de Mai really the good thing and virtually the dead cert?
Cue Card could easily win this with Harry Cobden up top and the horse also loves it round Haydock. I wouldn't rule out Outlander...Jack Kennedy over to ride him... operation to his back completed he will not have any worries over the ground. Don't forget a lot of people fancied this horse as an outsider in the Cheltenham Gold Cup and looks like money around for him on Oddschecker.

I think its too tricky to call so just a watching brief for me. Fingers crossed its an exciting race..

Very, very sweet on the chances of Top Notch in the Christy 1965 Chase at Ascot. Found only Yorkhill too good in the JLT and was probably over the top at Aintree when beaten in the Manifesto Novices Chase. Had a nice spin over hurdles a couple of weeks ago and I am convinced Mr Henderson has aimed him at this. The ground should be ideal and I think 20 furlongs is probably his best trip, although I can see him taking this and maybe heading to the King George, but one step at a time. He won a Graduation Chase over course and distance just under a year ago and that for me was one of his best performances (from what we could see through the fog). I think he will run a massive race here and will take all the beating.

Bristol De Mai is a rotten price tomorrow!!

Rubbish field is the only thing in his favour.

    An absolutely dire grade 1.

    Abysmal stuff!!!!

Flying Angel looks a mad price. Showed he has the beating of Top Notch at Aintree. The rest of them are at a certain level and I would hope he'd be a class above them.

We aren’t letting Cue Card go unbacked at 2/1 are we? As the above post states abysmal stuff, dire grade 1 and if Cue Card can’t see to this field then it’s surely on to a happy retirement for him

I'll grant you that the Betfair Chase is poorly populated for a grade 1, but it is still a fascinating contest between the main protagonists and I agree with Pops that Outlander is by no means coming for place money.

But what a great card overall at Haydock - the stayers hurdle giving me a big problem in that I have three of my faves running - namely Zarkandar, Champers On Ice and Three Musketeers - yet I fancy Sam Spinner a lot!!

Earlier, surely Nichols will be winning the race with his name in it's title with Dynamite Dollars but I will be having a sneaky ew on Delire D'Estrival. Dawson City and Big River in the two following races and in the lucky last I like Baywing. He can defy topweight in this compressed handicap and with conditions that suit, is well worth his current 8-1

    Good luck all <ok>

Outlander for me in the Betfair- altho yet to win outside Ireland this is by means not the strongest G1 at all! And looks a great chance to break his duck! His Lexus and down royal look very smart indeed

Roaring bull looks a decent bet in the 1.35 Gowran Park- on my tissue prices I had him at 11/10 fav so at the current price looks good to me!

2.25 Haydock- CHAMPERS ON ICE- 6/1

A pipe Horse with head gear on for the first time! He cant jump a fence as his festival run proved that. His Albert Bartlett form looks solid will like the ground running off a mark of 143 , stable in form and this looks a plot job and can’t be ignored

Purely on price, Outlander is worth a punt in the Betfair Chase, though I do expect Bristol de Mai to win (this being Twister's time of year an' all)
