I'd persevere with that last one if I was you. He may have just given us the winner of the Phoenix Stakes
Was she blonde? As sounds like the sort of bold invitation you would expect from Gay Kelleway (ZEBSTAR).
Anyone else a bit miffed at seeing Simon Crisford getting a winner yesterday? I don't think there's anyone in the sport I dislike more.....
Sorry Bob, it did not start out that long – I should have put the reply to stick’s comments on Speculative Bid in a separate post. Well done on getting a third of the way through. Most people give up after the first sentence.
Zebstar is not currently entered in the Phoenix Stakes; however, the lady was blonde/light haired. Looking at the entries for the Phoenix Stakes, I was wondering if it could be a trainer’s wife. Does anybody know if Maureen Haggas has light/blonde hair? I know it was not Deirdre Johnston as her husband was there.
I was looking at the 39 entries listed on SportingLife.com for the Keeneland Phoenix Stakes (Group 1) on August 9th here. Is there more than one Phoenix Stakes? This used to be run at Phoenix Park until that course closed.
This is starting to become as clear as mud. Three different websites list three different entries for the race. All they do seem to agree on is it is 9th August! The only picture I could find of Gay Kelleway she had brown hair but it could be an old picture and you know how women like to have their hair done. At the minute the horse could be Lapilli, Melabi, Raucous (all William Haggas, husband of Maureen) or Zebstar (Gay Kelleway). As no British trainer has won it in over a decade and Aidan O’Brien has virtually farmed the race, perhaps this is not worth the effort...
Jessica Harrington doesn't have an Irish accent. Quite well spoken English tongue...no doubt an English boarding school graduate. Maureen Haggas is blondish.
Bitterly disappointed that Oppenheimer didn't have the guts to run his Derby winner in Saturday's race. He would have won. The going was not that soft as times were not miles from average. Must be the worst renewal for years. Even Conduit beat some Group 1 horses. The race seems to be sliding off the top table, if it has not already slid.
