That's a very odd thing to say Chelsea. Not sure I understand it. I 'm not aware of any hurdlers winning the KG though

    Pathetic scenes today.

Golden Horn withdrawn from what is supposed to be a major Group 1 because of good to soft ground.

The sport and the horse are who will suffer for it, two Group 2 horses fought out the finish of the King George and Golden Horn now has dodged the King George on his CV.

The going was officially "soft", not "good-to-soft". Maybe you know more than RP, SL, and ATR in this respect? Nothing pathetic at all today. Owner's privilege to take a horse out if conditions are totally unsuitable for it, regardless of it being a Group 1. The sport has not suffered at all, that's rubbish.

The sport suffers more today because of the SPECULATIVE BID scenario rather than anything else! Enquiry and non runner status not announced before weighed in....fiasco!

The time and visual impression suggests otherwise. Gd to Soft at worst.

The time was faster than Danedream and Nathanial on gd to soft to put it into perspective, two actual Group 1 horses, and very close to Dylan Thomas time on gd to soft.

Wait until Golden Gorn is retired and see if dodged a weak King George is not brought up <ok>

Lost. That's more like it. I was getting worried with all these winners at York.

Certainly was very wrong there, Eagle Top ran a great race over the distance from the fast pace set by Romsdal. Stayed a mile-and-a-half well. Have to change my mind about Pivotal's progeny, even though the average winning distance for his offspring is supposed to be 7.9f.

It will be interesting to see what Timeform make of that KG. At present they have the going as soft. But it is hard to believe that 2 horses ran the KG faster than Danedream, on slower ground. Possible scenarios:
    • the ground for Danedream's race was incorrectly recorded
    • the ground for today's race was incorrectly recorded
    • the track was shorter today
    • the 2 horses today are both exceptional and should be joint favs for the Arc
    • Danedream won easily and could have knocked a couple of secs off her time
    • Danedream didn't run to form and the rest were only average and unable to take advantage of a Danedream off day
