Jockeys saying the Haydock fences are a bit big and stiff, surely there are certain dimensions for them?

No bet for me in the next but I think Benatar could show a bit more and go close. Generally around 6/1.

Agreed. I am a funny ****er when it comes to horses but Politologue is a horse I have just never taken a liking to. Charbel's form with Baron Alco gives him every chance.

Long term plan to get him a mark for the festival? Coral Cup? Was indeed a strange ride.

couldn't get why he was ridden so wide for most of the race - but never mind - onwards and upwards. Politologue here

    haydock,2 25:

my first thought here was paisley park, who created a nice impression at aintree last time out,and is still unexposed over these staying trips, but has an awful lot of weight today, which rather puts me off.so,its CAPTAIN CATTISTOCK,i turn to,who also ran well in the aforementioned silver trophy, and though the form has just taken a knock,he too is unexposed here.big shout for the in-form nicholls yard..

I'm with First Assignment too Oddy, but slightly concerned that connections have only entered him to make the most of his current rating. He could well not have got over his last run entirely. But form wise I couldn't look anywhere else (and I backed him lto so he owes me nothing!)

Edit: I see he does actually carry a 5lb penalty, but I think he is better than that

    my next two:

    ascot,2 40

i was a bit disappointed, that WE HAVE A DREAM was only third in the elite hurdle last time out,but ive the feel, hes much better than that, and i hope,he can revers placings with if the cap fits here.

    haydock,3 00:BETFAIR CHASE

on paper,it looks a two horse race, but what about THISTLECRACK? he seems to be a bit of a forgotten horse, but is still the third highest rated in this race.so,if all is well,he could run a massive race today..

Cracking ride from Aiden Coleman ... well done Paisley Park backers. Fav looked like he'd had enough a long way out but that might just be my imagination

I think the horse got him out of trouble there!
I also thought I'd managed to get another favourite beaten, so he got me out of trouble too :)

Great close-up shots of the horses there on ITV - what a bull of a horse Thistlecrack is but Might Bite is a stunner.

Rooting for Native River here though - come on my son <ok>
